Hey folks,

Does anyone know who owns that blue 40 series in the bush on North Shore rd. I've been driving past it for four years now and I've never knocked on the door to see what the story is. Either an "eager" project truck or they don't know/care what they have. On the other hand, I don't know anything about 40's either so I wouldn't know what to look for if there was any worth in it.

Anyone have any insight to this? Should I knock on their door and inquire?

Maybe I'll go grab it and trade Seapotato for his 61 ;-)

Cheers!

Always knock and ask. That is what I do. I'm always surprised at the reasons why people keep
old trucks around, and what they think they are worth.

Maybe if there's 10k in the glove box....:flipoff2:

Sure ask, but people as a whole are fairly predictable.
If you're thinking of asking, someone else probably has, and chances are, its still there because they were told to fxxx off or told a price that amounted to the same thing.

But don't let my misanthropy stop you from knocking. ....

If anyone is from Sooke, the story of the 1970 Boss 302 that sat for over 10 years with the hood up.
That's someone you don't want to ask, Why?

Hey Ryan, I love the use of the middle ages Victorian French word Misanthropy meaning a general hatred, distrust or disdain of the human species or human nature hahaha Or were you actually referring to the French Heavy Metal Bank by the same name?

Ha nope not french metal.

It's a good word, and the way language has degraded to the point that it needs to be googled , is just another reason to use it. :flipoff2:

A ford? Could have been broken down for a different reason every time you drove by.

Used to be a boler trailer in a field opposite Maxwells in cobble hill. Had a sign in the window so I finally stopped and walked over to read it

As I recall it said , "not for sale. you are trespassing , now fxxx off" although I think there were actually a couple more f bombs in the sign....

The sign was much too small to read from the road, so I'm not sure what the jackass expected. I guess that's how trolls got by before the advent of message boards.

As I told PZ, by all means knock, just don't be surprised if the person is hostile. :meh:

HAHA totally agreed, I am learning bigger Ozark Mountain mushroom picking words now from TV shows, y'all
Your right some people can be real dick heads over their crap that they think is gold plated, but whatever world is full of those fkrs!
ON the other note, there are some people you approach and they invite you in for coffee and cookies and tell you old stories and are just down right nice people. Those are the ones I like, trustworthy and kind any day! peace...

My 40 sat in my Grandma's back yard for 2 years... Many, many people were disappointed when she said it wasn't for sale. She was more of the invite you in for tea types. I'll miss her.

Hey guys, I eventually stopped by and the owner's roommate was around. According to the roommate the owner was offered $30,000 cash and laughed at it. Yes, thirty-thousand-dollars. Apparently he's going to bring it into the garage and do a quick little restor on it and "it will be like new again."

We'll see if that actually happens I suppose.

Needless to say, I didn't even put my hand into my wallet pocket.

30k... are we talking rust free here.. all original.. if it's been sitting outside for the past four years then it's not rust free. I would be interested in seeing pics... bj or fj.. round or square bezel..
