Well, my 40 had a bad week. I build a block and tackle to hoist my top on and off. Works like a charm. Unfortunately, the cable got wedged and stuck in one of the pulleys. In the process of getting the top down from my ceiling, the hook it was attached to broke and my top fell about 5 feet to the ground. Both back lips that overhang over the body bent inward and the paint chipped badly. I was able to bend them back, but I am going to have to bodyfill sand and repaint. And I was worried about painting hinges.:doh::doh::)

That sucks. I thought I was the only one that does crap like that. Ask me about all of my cruiser stupidity sometime over a beer. I guess it showed you not to sweat the small stuff, although I don't drive a 40 as nice as you so it is easy for me to say. At least it was the top and you won't need it for a while.

I did get to drive to Keifers with my wife though. A 16 year old girl was oogling over the 40 and taking pictures with her pink iPhone. She said "Hey, that is such a cool Jeep!" I said it was a Toyota as I gave her a wink. My wife rolled her eyes at the whole scene.

Sooooo, if anybody would be interested in helping me do some very light body work, I would be happy to pay them in cold beer. :)

I get real mad at my guys when they do sh*t like that...

I know a guy who had his hood up and backed partially out of his garage before realizing he had put a crease in his hood.....

I have backed out of the garage and taken a side view mirror clean off and let's not discuss all the dents and imperfections I just "covered" when I painted my truck

post a pic of your hoist and how you did it.....im going that route soon so my top is off the floor.

Made this for my wife this morning. I shamelessly stole the original picture and female journal entry from the internet. It sums up a lot in our marriage.

Lots of truth in that.

And once, as guys, we understand that we will never understand the temperment or mind of wife or 40 themore at peace we can be in our inability to relate

If done perfectly, about 1/2 that

agree..but bc it's worth half that he probably wont come off price that much...so...... agree with below...go with that and then you have a good project and some of your chips left over

Seems reasonable if the engine is not a rats next (not likely)
