Sorry I can't get Adobe to export the jpeg, but you get the idea. Similar to the green one above, just pushed the factory lines out a bit to clear the bent metal.

Ok guys, good news and bad.

Got the blinkers working! Was a lose connection at back of fuse block.

In my testing though, I had pulled the protective cover off the terminal near my thumb in the below pic. And I forgot to put it back on before I mounted the panel back in. When I did, it MAY have touched metal but maybe not.

Now EVERYTHING is dead. No power to anything. No lights no starter no nothing.

What have I done and what is broken???

My fuse box cover has been off for 3 years now. You must have a short somewhere else.
Was the battery disconnected when you started messing with the fuse box?
 
Braswell my cover is been off for years, I've never even had one. I was referring to the small terminal on the back of the panel that carries power when switched. But like I say I can't even say for sure that the terminal brushed metal when I put it back in.

Agree Nolen verything I've read says it's the fusible link but I can't find one, and I have no idea where it may be. Both my large negative and positive battery cables are new, so there's no link there. What should I be looking for?
 
Check the fuses, you may have just blown the ignition.
 
I changed all the 15a but didn't have any spare 20s so those weren't changed. I'm gonna pick some up and try today. But shouldn't some of the circuits (the ones with new fuses) work then??
 
The fusible link is a short piece of wire from the harness that should either connect directly to the battery or to the starter terminal where the battery cable connects. It is the main power connection to the harness. Here is a picture of mine:

It's the off white wires with connectors and a black wire in the middle. The black wire is the actual fusible link.

You'd test this by connecting the white wire from the harness directly to the battery terminal temporarily.

Right, no 'fuse' per se, the black wire is just much smaller gauge so it will smoke first.

If it fried, I'd think you would be able to see signs of it, however I wouldn't think that grounding that hot terminal on the back of the fuse block would be enough to fry the fusible link.

Don't quit her yet...you're almost there.
 
there is a fuse in one of the white connectors under the hood on mine; can't recall actually from memory
