Also if you have the heaters make sure you switch to heat so the water control valve opens.
 
Pulled the radiator. Flushed with water. Seemed to be 100% clear and filled easily. Pulled all the hoses. No obstruction to thermostat or to water pump.

I'm guessing I just had a large air pocket blocking things??
 
Very possible. Did you get the funnel we discussed?
 
This is the small retainer piece (circled in grey) that screws into the upper/inside lip of the fuel opening. The keyed lid clamps onto it and keeps the lid shut. I can't find it anywhere...if anyone knows where i could locate one, will be very grateful
11/75 manufacture date on my truck.

Is it not part 013 in the Fuel Door Cylinder diagram on this page?

I doubt people actually pay that right?? If so they are crazy.
