Found a set of new in-the-bag Toyota spark plug wires for a '77 in my storage room this weekend. Don't know what I paid or what they are worth. Is anyone still running a stock dizzy?

I want em Lash.

I need some clarification if anyone has a free minute?

See below pic, stuff on the bottom (all compliments of Georg).

I know the axle seals will make sense when I get everything pulled, and most likely so will everything else, but I just want to have an idea of what goes where before i start.

Anybody mind going left to right, and saying "hey dummy this piece goes here?"

Looks like:
-inner axle seal
-hub to spindle seal
-gasket between hub and locking hub
-washer used between axle spindle nuts to keep them from moving. Bend half of tabs in around inner nut and half out around outer nut
-gasket between locking hub and locking hub "face"

I would search the net for an axle rebuild manual. Or, a mini truck solid front axle manual or Factory Service Manual would be helpful.

How do I get the rear axle seal out?

It looks like I just pry it out it don't want to mess anything up.

It's a solid press fit. They don't give up their position and fight to the death. I have a seal puller that works well for those kinds of situations.

That available at a parts house?

Any other options if not?

Thanks for all the quick replies guys.

Bomar...went to that O'Reilly's...they didn't have it. So I improvised. Took a framing hammer and used the claw, popped right out.

Got very little of the list done today cause I kept running into PO issues, the main one pictured below. The axle nuts on the front were put on without a socket. Looks like the PO used a hammer and screwdriver to tighten them down. Since they wouldn't come off that way, you can imagine the pain in the ass it was to smooth all those edges enough to get the socket on there.

I had both issues when I did the front axle maintenance on my 80.

It's too late now, but, like you, I improvised and used a BF pipe wrench to get my hub seals out...worked surprisingly well.

I filed my adjusting nuts (which looked like they had been taken off and put back on with a hammer and chisel) smooth and saved them, but I ended up ordering a new set while I had it all apart.

I thought about filing mine down, but went ahead and ordered 4 new ones a few minutes ago.

On another note, anybody have an recommendation for brand / weight, etc, for differential oil?

I go for 90 wt, sometimes a brand name, sometimes the house brand. I'm not sure it matters much as long as it gets changed in a regular basis.
