Here is what she looked like when I purchased at the end of 2015.

Getting there

Sbc conversion fj40, had to much chrime for me and with a lot of help have come a long way. Trollhole top, lots of touch ups and small parts, OME lift, wheels and tires.

FITech is going on right now, getting the old Holley off and ready for CO this summer. Been some issues with the command center, so went with the RobbMc Performance PowerSurge. Does require a return line, but no chance for fuel in engine bay. Won't be together for Jambo but will be ready for the summer!

Sweet! It does look like your awfully low on the steering box though. Isn't that shackle going to be right into it on the backside?

Mock up on the saginaw box worked fine. Will know for sure later this week

If you have not obtained your power steering hoses yet, check out ebay #261702058064. If your's is the 1981-newer box that takes the metric o-ring fittings, check out the 1st and 5th photos in that listing- - -they are very custom made fittings, ultra low profile, to keep the hoses "under" the front grill panel without sloppy installation. Mud guys do not have to buy these through ebay, plus they get 10% off since I don't have to give it to ebay- - -easy deal.

I will check tomorrow, it's at the shop. I know the fittings are o rings on the box, we were looking for a adaptor.

Btw, I have a th350 to TC adaptor with. Your name on it.

I can supply the hoses with the 16mm and 18mm o-ring fittings, then I can include the pump fittings for either the 5/8"SAE flare fitting or the 16mm o-ring fitting- - -easy deal. If you are dang lucky you have the 1" thick Downey adapter for your TH350. Did you also get the smaller front u-joint and flange (which still requires slight tranny modification)????

Downey

This is the adaptor I am running, looks like the one inch you mentioned.

Baseball wrapped up for the weekend got a lot of small things done. Iron Pig skid plate, CCOT winch plate and got the ebrake adjusted and working. Getting ready for CO and TX. Drilled relief for the winch plate and still need to do some final grinding and work in skid plate (messy welds from tc mount sbc). Mounting a M8s and install rad, build new seat platform.

Couple weeks of busy baseball before those projects.

M8000s mounted. Next steps are to rebuild seat fram with BTB products kit, slides and tuffy box. Also need to repair hole in trans hump, install new rad and lower hose.
Picked up the Terain Tamer recovery kit. Great price for what you get.

New CSF 4 row fj40 rad today. Running 25 degrees cooler with temp gun and the old one was quite a few pounds heavier than the new. Used 73' sbc truck for lower hose and cut. Amazing, old one had a leak at the neck.

Next to build the seat frame. Next weekend, maybe tomorrow.

So have time and got a little more done. Fuel lines, rebuilt old seat frame for now and added a tuffy. Repair tunnel tomorrow and add a TC saver from Georg while I'm in there. Fixednleak at speedo cable with two small o rings but discovered atf getting into TC while in there. That's a fix for when truck gets back from CO. Seal up quarters and a little more "stuff" also this week.

Wish it was still the original color! Looks like two repaints, one bright yellow and one 2013 FJ Green. Wanted to put TC Saver on (Valley Hybrids) but the mount from swap is in the way. Didn't want to go further, so will install after CO when the TC gets pulled to fix the seal between auto and TC.

What kind of seats are those? I really like the look. Nice 40!

SMG,

I have no idea on brand. They were set up with 5 pt harness when I bought. Didn't work very well with them. Lap belts now, on way to three point. Going to rebuild seat frame, but didn't have time before a trip to CO so I moved the seats out a little and installed a tuffy box. Going to keep the seats, see how they are on the trail. Hope you had a good 4th.
