Made some shock hoops out of 1.5" DOM. Bottom shock mounts are Marlin Crawler knuckle gussets. Need to make the bumps and the front should be good to go for paint.

Made the shock mounts for the rear, and also built a rear bumper. Need to add some tubing to the sides of the rear bumper to keep the rocks clear of the quarter panels.

Built some tube doors also. Bought the latches from summit racing and I'm pretty happy with how well they fit. With a little finesse they don't rattle at all when on the trail.

Spent a few days on the Rubicon with a bunch of Jeep friends. Jeep had about 30 Engineers stacking and dragging the new Cherokee through the Con. We ran into them at Observation Point. It seemed pretty stupid to me that they would drag the vehicles through the trail just to say their vehicles are "Trail Rated."

Producers and film crews making a video of the Jeep. They even had a helicopter flying over taking photos.

Ran (wet) Old Sluice in the middle of the night. That was a challenge, but what a blast! One of the best times of the trip.

Camped at Buck Island. Decided to bring two rigs on this trip :D

If only the Runner flexed that well....

Looks like a heck of a good time. I wish I lived closer to some of those awesome trails out west.

I bet it was interesting to see that poor grand being drug around out there.

Hi everyone, I am DiscoveredLC friend. Matt (DiscoveredLC) has recently passed away due to lymphoma. He passed away on 10/14. He will be greatly missed by everyone.

We will be doing a memorial run for him at steve's loop in reno on November 16 if any would like to join let me know.
DiscoveredLC's Memorial Run 11/16/13

So long story short. Shinobi bought matts (DiscoveredLC) form his parents shortly after matts service. Kanin (Shinobi) did a bunch of work to the runner to get it where its at today. He added double h1 beadlocks and 37s. Added a front bumper and a very fresh 22re motor. Kanin didn't feel he used it enough to keep it as he had 2 other wheelers. So I ended up buy the 4runner off Kanin. Little background of me. I grew up and went to school with matt. We wheeled together with either the runner or his LC. I'm very honored in having the opportunity of owning something matt built Since I have owned it I have put a new/used transmission in it and some lighting. I'm no stranger to wheeling wither. I had a 97 Cherokee on 42s. RIP MATT BARNES

This is my first time seeing/reading through this thread. Sad to see you lost your friend. Looked like he loved wrenching and wheeling. It's very cool to see you still enjoying the 4Runner he built and keeping his memory alive. RIP
