My kids love sitting in the third row, and unfortunately they can't hear any music back there. I've upgraded the speakers in the rear door, but still not good enough. So, has anyone tried installing speakers along the pillar?

On the FJ Cruiser, I've seen folks do it, but don't know what kinda clearance the 100 has in the rear pillar.

Or if there's any where else I should be looking to add speakers, please let me know. Looking to do something simple like a pair of 4". Nothing fancy.

Thanks!

I was thinking about making some small 3.5" or 4" enclosures, but that would be overkill. As for 6x9's, perhaps one on the floor pointed directly at their faces will suffice :)

I don't mind cutting, I just want to get some feedback from folks who've done it already.

Thanks!

Not quite sure if anyone has done that already or not...Be innovative:)

Lots of great ideas. I like bucfl's idea best so far. You could also use the panel that covers where the jack goes and cut in a speaker or two although the sound will be behind them a bit.
