If you've done the TPS resistance checks in the manual and can't adjust to within spec, then yours might be bad. You might want to get a second opinion though, since those things are pretty spendy. I personally would go Toyota if I had to buy a new one. Were you getting an error code 51?

i have read and tried all above and believe my TPS is bad, I get a 1 on my meter, on the truck off the truck, manipulating it off the truck and on the truck. I assume it is a bad one--confirmation?? comments--if so any comments on non yota TPS?? thanks in advance for any comments

You are getting 1 what? 1 k-ohm? What position is the TPS in when you get this reading.

Please try to provide specific guidance so we can help you:
1 what?
What position is you meter in?
What year 3FE are you looking at?

Thank you,

This thread is very informative. We see in it that there is often much more to the story of TPS performance than just calibration.
Wiring faults, vacuum leaks, fuel line faults, timing and idle adjustments. I am going to look into these on my ‘88. Thank you!
