CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR BACK ABOUT YOUR LATEST MOD & YOUR THOUGHTS!!! This 3FE'er could use all the help it can get and I literally had someone tell me to just wait, hold off on this mod for another 80+K miles until my motor swap. But I like the tone and enthusiasm of your post!!! PLEASE LET US KNOW!!! @Marco LauFinally got the Nomad Valve Body installed on the 3FE. It literally transforms how the rig drives now, and the improvement is immediate. The install was a total mess and took me about 6 hrs from start to finish by myself with basic tools and help from my brother when putting the new VB back into the tranny. Took a few test drives to get the air pocket all sorted and the tranny shifting nice and crisp and firm now with the 3rd lock up apparent. The A440F feels like a totally new tranny now and definitely hits the right gear when booted. This is by far my fav. mod i have done. Here is a pic of the old VB removed... Heading to the Rubicon next week and will test it out on the long haul.

I should have done this mod like 3 yrs ago. If you plan on using the rig on the highway and climbing steep grades or higher altitude, this is a no brainer. This mod is not gonna transform the 3FE into a race car, but the tranny is shifting at the right RPMs and making the torque converter working less hard and hence reduces engine heat. The 3rd gear lockup is awesome. I would highly recommend it.CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR BACK ABOUT YOUR LATEST MOD & YOUR THOUGHTS!!! I have a 92’... I kept the 15x7 stock wheels and got 33” BFG KO2Need some wheels and tires ideas for my new to me 3fe. Want to stay stock and no lift and street driving only for now. Want to stick with OEM wheels. Please advise.
Any pics? I don’t mind the 15” oem, as long as it can use some meaty thick tires and looks goodI have a 92’... I kept the 15x7 stock wheels and got 33” BFG KO2
I've had them for a few years they are great ... just my opinion.

Here is my .02 as I have owned 3 trucks with 15” wheels. Tires are getting harder and harder to come by. I’d consider moving up to a 16” wheel either a newer LC wheel or maybe a set of 16” Pro Comp steel rock crawlers. The offsets are similar and tires will be more readily available. Both wheels can be found for good prices and in the long run will give you more flexibility. Otherwise Grabber makes great tires. This AT’s are hard to beat. My 80 has the X3‘s on it and it does well on both road and trail.Need some wheels and tires ideas for my new to me 3fe. Want to stay stock and no lift and street driving only for now.
