You know, the one that lists for well over $200, and only coming as one big assembly with both metal pipes as well. I've wanted to replace just the rubber portion in the front, mainly the top section, since my prestone flushing t has been mounted there for ten years now, and has seaped for the last 3. The rubber is shot from the worm drive clamps, and 18 years of use. I recall a thread a while back, about someone who said the hose was listed as a single part under the 62 series cruisers, you know, the ones with the better 3FE engine:flipoff2:. So I looked it up on the computer at my friendly dealers, order it, and walahh.

Part number 87245-90k53 is a direct fit, it lists at $10.59(I paid $8.47:flipoff2:), and its a whole lot better than over $200. Better get em now cause I'm thinking of buying the whole lot of them and selling for fifty each. Some before, comparison, and after pics for your enjoyment.

Oh yeah, 3FE POWWA!

You're welcome. ;)

Prop's to John Hocker at Sierra Toyota (google him: he's as knowledgable and and as accomodating as our resident parts guru, and thus another great resource) for first noticing this for me.

Why the hell would that thing cost $200

Good catch... I might have to order one

Finally got around to replacing the lower front heater hose. Once again I used the 62 series info, and part # 87245-90k36 is a direct fit. Took off the upper hose to get to the lower one, but since I just recently replaced it, it was a pleasure.

Do you have a part number for the pink and yellow SST?

I know this is an ancient thread, but just an amusing note that I learned this same lesson when I blew that lower hose and tried to get quick replacement from Autozone (chain parts place).

They handed me a hose that didn't look quite right, but since I hadn't removed the bad hose yet, I wasn't sure till I got back to the parking lot where Vera (my FJ80) was stranded. One look and I grabbed the old hose and headed back to the part store. After he verified the part # on the 1991 fiche, I told him to check the 1990 fiche to see if the FJ62 version of the 3FE fiche was more accurate.

Sure enough, there was the hose I was looking for.

Anyway, that was essentially a "temp" fix, and I'll replace again with OEM and those lovely wire-style OEM clamps to replace the one or two worm-type I used 10K miles ago, when I replace the rest of the hoses. And... now I have the OEM part #'s, thanks!

I have numbers and places to order for just about every other water/coolant line together as well (radiator/heater/oil cooler), that i have on order, and as soon as i get them and install, and make sure they're good, I will post and save the boys a good half dozen hours or so:zilla:
