3b turbo?

hey

so after fitting some 33 inch tyres it has taken a toll on the power output of the car
went fairly well with 235 tyres

so i was wandering what are my options regarding turbo type and size?
i have researched quite abit on his forum and hae gotten a bit of an idea
but i am still unsure on what is a good turbo for the 3b

I want good low end power and midrange i never go over 3000rpm as it does not have much power past this

i have heard that a T25 turbo from a ca18det (1.8l) petrol motor is fairly suited to the 3b? if so when would it start to spool up and when will it run out of breath?

also this is a quick set up until i figure out a few things as im contemplating a compound turbo system later down the track

so to keep things simple i will be flipping my manifold, i have a power steering pump so will have to make it fit some how.

all options opinions are welcome

Compound turbo why bother with the single setup then. im a modified 7M GTE fan along with the pump mods and boost to match

Im sure hultsy will tell you gturbo and im also looking at gturbo

Welcome aboard.

Please see the search button at the top of the diesel section, there is more info to be easily found and observed with that then I can summarize in 5 minutes of typing, and there is many 3B turbo threads in here, including pictures, feedback, questions and even some info on compound setups, with parts lists and pictures!

When you have some more specific questions the diesel gurus will be more inclined to pipe up.

hey guys a have read most of (all i can find threads on 3b diesels)

and i have learnt that t25 is sutible.

what about the T28 ball bearing turbo? from a sr20 motor
i only say as i can get used good condition for $200

I couldnt get a definite answer on what size compressor and turbine housing should be used

on the t28 it says 60A/R on compressor side not sure exhast side though

does it sound to big?

This thread would get alot more attention if it were in the diesel section, perhaps a moderator could move it, I suspect you would have gotten the answer you were looking for already in there.

Not just the exhaust also the muffler needs to be correct. 3" is fine.
