No. It was 19 mpg at 75 mph and 17 mpg running at 83 mph without a trailer. this was the 5.7 cummins. zero emissions. no cat, no dpf, nothing. nothing oem.

It would just go places that I have to think about with my LC.
Detroit lockers, long arm setup, it was built.

They are different vehicles.. and I wasn't comparing them above.

This was the Ram.

Very different trucks indeed. Not surprised with those numbers with that era of truck at sea level and in flat land. I live on the south coast of Texas, very similar terrain and atmosphere.

That was the golden age of diesel full size indeed. We've emasculated them with the current emission controls. I'd like to see the math on the net 'improvement'. Sure particles are down, but aren't they putting more CO2 into the air with the 20% reduction in fuel economy?

Just like the 10% ethanol blend that results in a 10% decrease in fuel economy. What did we really gain besides feel-good legislation?

That diesel ram was great.. I would have bought another just like if they still made them like that.

You lifted the hood and there was an engine, with nothing hanging off it. Easy access to everything.

Bought it when I was in Cali.. because diesels were exempt back then from the smog check circus.
