33" Tires

Local tire expert says most manufacturers recommend a rim width that is, at a min, 70% of the tire width. I've violated that rule several times (and am right now at 66%) but have always tried to stay close to it.

they say that because it is a royal pain to mount wider tires on skinny rims.

Due to this, as Junk said, it can help the bead stay put in the goop.

Redneck beadlocks! :D I like that, I'm not a red neck but I'm trying. . .

Haven't had any problems with this setup, have run both 33/12.5 Procomps and 33/12.5 swampers with no problems.

Narrow rim also helps to keep the tire on the skinny side (helped w/fitment on my '96 4Runner). When I get my 35's this week I'll go to a 8" rim.
