You put Total Chaos UCA on your truck when they are only SUPPOSEDLY needed with more than a 1 inch lift.
Was there any reason you did that? Do you think it has any effect on handling?
I'm ordering Radflos and want to do it right the first time

The radflo's do lift the front approx .75-1", furthermore i had read nothing but positive reviews of the UCA's on this forum and radflo supplied them along with Icon rear trailing arm; i welcome any improvements that better a car/truck. having never driven an LC prior to receiving mine which had all the work done to it before i took delivery of it, i have nothing to compare it to, however i love my LC, it's one of my best car purchases i have made to date and thanks to this forum for all the advice/assistance :cheers::cheers: IH8MUD forum is by far (miles) better than any other automotive forum i am a member

Can you do me a favor. Can you turn you wheels all the way to one side and take a few pics of the angles of the wheels and tires. Are they straight, do they lean in or out. This will help me understand what effect the total chaos arms are having on your camber and caster. Even total Chaos has told me that the arms are not necessary for the 1 inch lift put if they have a positive effect on suspension geometry then I see no harm in installing them.
I appreciate the time you take to contribute to the discussions.

Have you looked at the "Light Racing" upper arms that are now available? These use OEM style bushings and ball joints that will likely be less maintenance intensive. Slee and MetalTech (I think) carry them.

My Problem is everyone is telling me I dont need them with only the 1 inch lift of the Bilsteins or the Radflos. If I knew that it would improve handling by altering the suspension geometry I would do them in a heartbeat.
This is the steering Angle I'm not sure of. It just doesn't look right to me.

By far, one of the best mods on my truck. Easy installation, easy to service the Total Chaos with the zerk fittings. Best and smoothest articulation. My alignment guy loves working on it because of the ease, and in my opinion a must with any type of lift.

Not sure why people question the upper control arms for $500-700 for the pair, on a $70,000 truck? If you had an 85 4runner and were rebuilding it, maybe put it off, but on a new Landcruiser?

I have no issue spending the additional $700 but why would Total Chaos talk themselves out of a sale. I don't want to do anything that would adversely affect handling.

Here is my reply from Total Chaos that confused me:

Anthony,

Thank you for your inquiry with TOTAL CHAOS Fabrication Inc. With only 1” of lift these arms may provide too much additional caster. They are intended for use on vehicles with 2.5”-3” of lift. They are stronger than stock and can cycle to a greater degree of angle but those aren’t really factors on a completely street driven vehicle.

Please let me know if you have any other questions,

i'm abroad at the moment, and will take pics upon my return. these UCA's are awesome handling considering my style of driving and the power i am coping with; i have a TRD SC.

chimyz, when you say easy to service, when and what service do the TC UCA's require
thanks in advance

With the bushings in the Total Chaos UCAs, it is important to lubricate them so they don't dry out. With 4 full seasons where I live, we get all types of weather and I find they do dry out. I typically add some grease every four to six months, they aid in moving freely and get rid of any squeaks. There are little fittings on them for a grease gun. Other than that, they are a bolt on, set it and forget it.

Brilliant, thanks for that info. I definitely get 4 seasons where I live.

no, you must make a few minor mods. there are many threads re this. so far, and from my own personal experience, Sparks have done more SC installs on both the LC200 and LX570 than any others; they do warranty their work/install

arich, your LC looks great with the LX wheels and 305/50R20 Michelins.

Was that photo taken with stock suspension? Any rubbing while turning?

Any chance you could post a few more photos?

Those are taken with the Bilstein shocks set to their highest setting which is about an inch raised. These are for sale very reasonably as I have radflos on order.

Tell me what pics you want. These wheels come off in about a week as we just got our first snowfall. I also have the Slee spacers but have not tried them yet.

I love the look. I think they fit the truck and the 18s, while fit their purpose for off-road look small on such a big truck. That said I hate the look of the escalade.

there is zero rubbing with the LX wheels + 305/50 R20's, only if you add spacers do they rub on the inside of the mud guard
