I Love this thread!!!!

No Cover Charge!!!!

All for a vehicle we won't even have the chance to PURCHASE no matter how much $$$ your willing to slap down on Toyoda's table.

The only hope is there might be a 300 series Lexus "LX 700" with messaging third row heated and cooled seats and video monitors.

All eight passengers in the new LX 700 will have 5G wireless capable net access so they can have their "individual choice" for the Lexus "mobile delivery meal services" a feature where meals are delivered directly to your moving Lexus with the new "Lexus Meal App" a Lexus first. McNuggets for the little one, Taco Bell for the teenie's and White Castles for adults
Sounds perfect ! Except for the fact, no self respecting LX owner eats Taco bell, McNuggets, or White Castle. :) :)

the LX600 is likely to draw power from the twin-turbo V8 Lexus is rumored to be working on.

I bought my wife today the 2020 4Runner from the same guy who sold me the 2020 LC. He is the only one who is allowed to sell LC at that dealership as he has been LC certified, etc... Short story... We were talking about lack of Apple CarPlay on LC while having on 4Runner and started talking about future of LC. He said that in the latest training they have covered the next engine which will v6 turbo . They didn't want to cover in training if it will be as part of new platform or still the same with engine update as we had new 8-speed transmission. There is change coming to 4runner as well for more full efficiency. I thought it was interesting so sharing.

So the scuttlebutt given to aftermarket accessory suppliers (ie ARB) is 2023 for the 300 series with a full 12mths for R&D available to them to have products ready to go for the release....

If that's true it's positive for resale values, without a redesigned truck coming out for a few years.

I just hope you get the diesels this time

I can’t see this happening in the US. Nowhere near enough demand, toyota pushing hybrids for so long as superior, and dieselgate still fresh in people’s minds.

Hook up a decent trailer and a hybrid is nowhere to be seen and the diesel far better. Here they were selling 1-2% petrol, the rest diesels to the point the petrol was cancelled, even in the lexus (which has the diesel too). Go to the middle east and where there is cheap petrol, the 5.7 sells ok. In the deserts, the diesel is still king.

who gives a crap about any of this anyway

@VooDoo2 we all wish but us yanks have been praying for diesel cruisers since the dawn of time

It’s sad but at this point all I’m hoping for is that Toyota adds CarPlay before the 5.7 v8 200 goes away. Goes away could mean a turbo v6 or other engine, replaced by a disappointing 300 series, or exits the US market.

Every new generation of cruiser has been "better" than the previous one (and a lot more expensive). Granted "better" is open for debate. If the US gets the 300 remains to be seen, and although it may be a disappointment in appearance, (they usually are) it's hard to fathom Toyota releasing a downgrade to the 200 in the US. We'll eventually find out.

All that matters is how many units are sold. Some people will like it and some won’t. Environmental standards will dictate what type of engine makes it to the US market. It is irrelevant what the rest of the world has. The LC and LX are low volume in the US, so nothing would surprise me.

And aren’t manufacturers in the US held to some kind of scoring average of their lineup based on mpg? Meaning they take a big hit with the LC to only sell 3k units?

I totally agree. Still, it won’t happen here, for the reasons listed above, and more

CAFE (corporate average fuel economy) is what you are thinking of. Toyota selling three billion Priuses helps this number considerably.

Not sure how they measure it. All I know is the manufacturers that sell in the US must meet cafe standards. Tough to sell SUVs that get an average of 15 mpg. A lot easier to sell them if average mpgs is in the 20’s. I don’t think the general consumer wants 15 mpg in today’s world. Some people don’t care, but I bet my last dollar most want better mpg.
