I'd spend money on head porting and valve work before I went to a cam grind. I had an unnoticeable change from my cam grind but the head and valve work dramatically improved the whole rev range.

It has now turned into a rebuild and turbo upgrade with intercooler. I was suprised to find a number of problems with the engine....not really.

Before taking engine apart I did a compression test lowest 430 highest 470 seemed reasonable.
Injectors and pump needed minor work and adjustment delete cold start and reseal pump
Turbo in ok shape but bad seal on exhaust side
Ths bad....
valves and seats in poor condition
Serious depoisits on intake valves
3 cylinders have water damage . Rusted bores from many miles ago
