I have been working on my engine for my cruiser. Started as a regasket and freshen up the injectors and pump. It has now turned into a rebuild and turbo upgrade with intercooler. I was suprised to find a number of problems with the engine....not really.
The good...
Before taking engine apart I did a compression test lowest 430 highest 470 seemed reasonable.
Injectors and pump needed minor work and adjustment delete cold start and reseal pump
Turbo in ok shape but bad seal on exhaust side

Ths bad....
valves and seats in poor condition
Serious depoisits on intake valves
3 cylinders have water damage . Rusted bores from many miles ago
No intercooler
Cracked exhaust manifold

Where I am today
Refaced valves
5 angle valve job on intake 4 angle exhaust
Minor porting and cleanup
Match manifolds
New TD05-18G Mamba turbo
Repurposed an intercooler to fit top mount
Custom intake manifold
New exhaust manifold

Not fully assembled yet but soon. Aiming for 200 hp at wheels.

Deshroud and radize the face of your exhaust valve will help exhaust out a lot. Nice clean exhaust runner. Your intake valve is a product of recirculating the crankcase blowby. I dont know why folks do that. Nice job.

200hp at wheels is easy with a worked up fuel pump, I mak 205 rwhp and 580 rwnm on 25psi at 21:1 AFRS and there is plenty more scope. I'm running an XXiindustries fuel pump an clutch, Gturbo BadBoy, Moonlight airbox and 600x400x76 top mount cooler. T diffence from stock is night and day!

Incidentally, I would suggest that you put in a catch can to keep the blow by out of the intercooler.

I put it back into the intake purely for legal reasons here, I have many opportunities to be put off the road on my truck anyway so the less the better IMHO. If it wasn't for that, I would go to atmosphere.

Hmm you could do a catch can and then a motor guard filter to clean it before recirculating. I use it as a filter for painting as it catches pretty much everything. Uses a toilet paper roll as a filter. Cheap and easy to replace.

I have a TD06SL2-18G 8cm 6x6 billet and 9-blade exhaust had to send in for warranty found a crack in the intake outlet of the turbo.

how is the Mamba td05 18G holding up for ya?

more easy on a 24V?
