Would the same body year 2WD swap onto a 4WD chassis?
And what about a motor swap, tranny?

Would it not be feasible cost wise?

I have a really nice 2WD, but would like to have 4X4.
There are plenty of rusted out bodies on 4WD systems.
My truck is a Colorado rust free 100% body.

Not as familiar with the 2WD stuff, but I'm pretty sure that the tranny is different - can't bolt the transfer case onto a 2WD and I'm pretty sure it isn't just that you unbolt a tailhousing or something.

Cab is the same. Fenders and bed are different. Wider on the 4WD to cover larger tires. Although, you don't say what year, so that will affect things too.

I asked the wrong question, would the axles and 4X4 components bolt on to a 2WD body and chassis?

Actually, quite a few people start wtih a 2WD chassis and do a solid axle swap (SAS) to it. But trying to take the '94 4WD IFS over to the '92 frame is going to be a mess.

Anything is possible with enough time and money. Are they both the same cab configuration? If so I would just get the 4wd truck and take the body off, clean everything up and paint it, then swap the 2wd body on. You might have to modify some stuff (trans/shifter opening comes to mind) but it should work.
