Hey there, this is my first post in the 80 section in a very long time. I have recently started driving my FJ40 with 2UZ and a750 5 speed auto.
After talking with a friend on the phone today, he mentioned there might be some 80's owners that would like some info on the swap. I realize most of you don't wander into the 40 section, so below is a link to my build thread. There is a lot of tech info on it, as far as what you'll need, different years of components, and wiring. The build is not 100% complete yet, so there will still be more info posted.
If anybody has any questions, or are thinking about doing this combo on your 80, feel free to PM me or post in my thread. I know there are a few 80's out there with 4 speed autos, and only one with a 5 speed auto that I know of, so there's still a relatively small amount of documentation on the conversion.
