Looks like I have too much angle for the inner CV boots now. Did you guys encounter this issue and if so, how did you solve it? I think I'm going to stretch it and re-clamp.

That sucks bud sorry to hear it, so far I don't have any issues and Spencer never mentioned any either. I wanted to stay away from the diff drop spacers but I know several kits go that direction. I did do the the carrier bearing spacers though. I have one of those toyota clamping tools for their cv boot clamps I found they held up much better than the aftermarket ones i tried in the past. Whats your measurements after the lift?

Most of the guys I've seen talk about stretching the boot have trouble getting it to stay unless they do the "Boot Slide" mod. The guys with 1st Gens do it all the time. I would think it would work for a 2nd Gen, I could be wrong...

I had a hard time finding a good explanation on Mud so here is a link to TW: Boot Slide mod. No more blowing cv boots.

That's what I'm looking into John.

I'm at 23" hub to fender Larry. 2 fins are touching on the passenger side, but I can see daylight between them on the driver's side.

For now, I coated them with dry Teflon and will apply some type of fix this weekend.

Will get you a measurement and pics on where I sit. I'm gonna start on my CB install next, anyone you know of making a good CB Antenna mount for a 2nd Gen that won't gouge your eyes out. BAMF has this one but $42 crosses my willing to order threshold but I need something like that to clear the cap.

2nd Gen CB Mount

I have 22inches on DS, and 23inches on the PS. Was waiting to get my sliders on before I added the spacer on the DS to even it out to balance the DS with the gas tank.

CV boots are not even close to rubbing on either side.

My outers are good. Inners, not so much...

I cleaned up the shafts, wire brushed them, and coated them with some firm hardening-oil resistant RTV. I let that set up for over an out to get it really good and tacky because the boot wanted to slide back if it wasn't. I used two #6 clamps, tightened evenly, once stretched over the silicone. I took it for a couple of trips to town and it hasn't moved yet. I'm going to keep my eye on them over the next week and if they move, I have other ideas.

Took Dad over to Courvelle Toyota Saturday to pick up his 2016 LONGBED TRD SPORT he ordered back in December. Very nice

Tug of war video?

TFL truck drag raced all 3 generations. 2nd Gen is still the fastest and within 1 mpg of the 3rd Gen.

Really? I feel like I drive this 4.0 litre to the floor it just has no bottom end. They seem to have fixed that in the 16's much more grunt and the 6 Spd is really nice for the HWY. I like the new to me 2nd gen its coming along nicely but given a choice between my 1st Gen, extended cab LX, 5 Spd 3.4 with TRD SC on 35's and this one. I'd go back in time to take my old 1st Gen even without the SC that 3.4 and 5 Spd was a good running rig.

Almost done with the hidden hitch project. A little more welding then sandblast and paint  Have to decide whether I'm going to knock out one of the license plate lights and mount the 7 pin connector in its place or weld a flat bracket on the hitch somewhere. Leaning towards knocking out one of the license plate lights I think putting an LED bulb in the one unit would light it up enough to keep me out of trouble.

Failed to blast and paint the hitch like I planned this weekend but I did decide to mount the 7 pin trailer wiring in place of one of the license plate lights. I'll throw an LED bulb in the remaining light and hope it generates enough to keep me out of trouble. I only had to do minor trimming to the existing light hole and actually trimmed more than I needed by a 1/4 of an inch :bang:

Looks great. I guess you plan on keeping that bumper for awhile.
