3rd gen flat bed build.......

Built this flay bed on a 91' xtra cab 3rd gen pickup. Still have three more things to do.

1. Down bars
2. 1-1/4" tubed railing
3. Add some LEDs for turn signals and brake lights.

Looks good! How did you go about cutting out the holes for the lights? I've been trying to think of a good way to do it that isn't too time consuming and sloppy (without having the plasma cutter I desperately need :( ).

Plasma cutter. ;)

I like it but why just the upper deck?

The lower will house the spare tire. Eventually a 39" Irok or Pitbull Rocker. He also has an airtank for his ARBs that goes below. He will eventually box it in below, but my job was to build the flatbed to his liking.

 One of these days I'll get one...

I paid $450 shipped for my Mitech Cut40 from Ebay. Worth every penny.

Took me 30 minutes to cut all the IFS off my old 1st gen 4runner. Its paid for itself 10 fold.............same with my bender.

You know, I've thought about that one but didn't know if it would hold up. How long have you used yours? $450 is definitely better than $1800 for a Hobart

I really like it. I have used it for over a year with no issues. Just make sure you stay stocked up on tips and consumables.

These guys have a similar unit, but do a turbo upgrade on it to make it more powerful. The guys on Pirate seem to like them too:
