**If anyone has an X-Tra Cab P/U of the same era LMK via pm if I can see if you face the same issue(s) discussed in this thread so I can consolidate a possible write-up bit.**

I took a look at my rain gutters tonight, purely by chance as I was in the process of removing my roof rack system to check the seals, etc and I found out that after only 2 years since I last base-lined it I now had a ton of pine needles, dirt, pond-scummy-looking-muck, and bottle-brush leaves and needles trapped in the rear drain section clogging it all up and some rust starting to form. I went ahead and cleaned it out briefly and tomorrow I'll go through the way I did a couple of years ago. Here's some pics post pressure washer blast and a quick seal coat on one small rust section. I'll post more as well as the stuff I used tomorrow when I get more into the job.

Beginning pics. The first one is looking down into the rearmost portion of the rain gutter. You can see that it tapers into the body and traps all the debris that would normally drain free and clear out of the door jamb. I am curious if this is a normal condition or if it's a result of my having used too much force to close the door after a recent freeze.

Two more. I wonder if anyone's tried harvesting this stuff yet and making some good cheese with it.

Wow, i can't believe the condition those are in! I wish mine were that nice but I live on the coast and use my truck to haul salty drippy kayaks. Just saying. That is like some hardcore virgin gutter porn there.

I know, huh., but not once you pull off the weather seals. :/ I remember my Grandparent's cars from when they lived off of Shoreview Avenue, you could have watched the things rust w/i 3 months. No pics, I spent more time sanding, treating, priming and painting them today. Realistically though, yeah, being in the East Bay does help to a degree. Hopefully this post makes folks think to clean it all out at least once a year. I'm gonna pull my cowl trim and see how much stuffs stuck in there tomorrow night.

Post some pics of your mini's rails for me. Comparatively, how does the 80 hold up to all the salt air?

I will check mine before washing it,never ever pulled that stuff out since 93.
