Thanks guys!! Don't hold your breath though.....I have bit of work and some travel that will interfere with getting after this puzzle....

Best!

OK Rob.

Not sure it matters to you but those terminal numbers on the top of the Preheat Timer are supposed to read 5, 1, 11, and 4 in that order ... I believe.

Just a bit of sloppy drawing on their part I think.

OK Rob,

I'll put the puzzle on hold.

The B,3B,11B,13B,13B-T Engine Repair manual that I have does not have wiring diagrams in the back.

My manual is Mar, 1986 and doesn't have the wiring diagrams either...

Yeah. AFAIK that manual is supposed to cover the 13BT but Toyota seems to have forgotten it in the wiring section.

I think that Señor Toyota changed his policy on wiring diagrams per 1982 with this book.

I think those are aimed at Autoelectricians Rudi .... so they don't have to buy multiple (& expensive) Chassis & Body FSMs just to get the bits that they're interested in.

AFAIK "Engine FSMs" have never incorporated full wiring diagrams but all the "Chassis & Body FSMs" are supposed to provide them in the back for all the models that they cover.

But it looks like 1982 was when Toyota decided to economise and do away with creating a wiring diagram specific to each model. Instead it incorporated lots of different models in the same one. (And when doing that, they apparently forgot to show the glowscreen wiring for the BJ74 unfortunately.)

A negative effect of incorporating everything in one is that an owner will find it hard to know (just from looking at the wiring) what they're supposed to have and what they aren't supposed to have.
For instance the owner of a diesel will see a disrtibutor and ignition coil there.

Aha, you're referring to the 36262E FSM, where the owner has to figure out what's relevant, and what's not for his Cruiser.

i know this is an old thread but may help others, the eyelet hole on each side is a different size. the small one matches the spigot on the left the larger on the right!
