Removed from my 1991 4WD pickup to make room for the diesel conversion. I'm hoping to get $750 for the engine, harness, ECU and G58 transmission.
22R-E Engine (201, 897 miles total).
--head rebuilt around 132,000 miles (including new valves)
--new timing chain 132,000 miles
--ran strong when pulled, didn't think to do a compression test before I pulled it
The downside is that the engine hemhorages oil (front main seal definitely, and could probably use the rear main too). It's also about due for the timing chain. If I were going to use it, I'd rebuild it--but I'm a perfectionist that way. I'm sure with a couple new seals it'd run just fine as I'm a soft foot. It wasn't pulling oversize tires, trailers, or anything else that would cause undue wear. The failed seals come from driving it from Alaska to New Mexico in January 2005. I think the seals (who had nearly 200,000 miles at that point) just lost the battle starting up in the cold air. I can tell you that at 35 mpg on engine oil, it makes quite a mess. Yes, I drove it all the way from Whitehorse to Albuquerque like that.
It includes a complete, uncut engine wiring harness. It also includes an ECU that was working well when I removed it. Attached to the engine and included is the alternator, starter, power steering pump and the complete EFI setup. All in working order. The truck did not have air conditioning, so there is no A/C anything included. I've also got a newer radiator (maybe 10,000 miles), shroud, fan, etc....
I've also got a G58 5 speed 4WD transmission/T-case I'd like to get rid of. From the same truck, so also has 201,897 miles on it. Worked just fine when I removed it. I would have kept it on my diesel conversion if I could have (not that I'm complaining about an R--I'm glad I swapped it now). Includes the gas bellhousing.
I'm hoping that I can get $750 for the engine (including harness and ECU) and transmission.
It is sitting about a half hour outside Albuquerque, NM. I just need to make room in the shop, and do what I can to finance the HJ-45... I haven't cleaned it at all, because anyone who buys it will possibly want to be able to check out the oil leaks (lest they be tempted to drive it without replacing seals), but I am more than happy to get the pressure washer out to clean it up after they've had a chance to check it out.
I'll get some pics of it this afternoon if anyone wants to know what a dirty 22R-E look like.
