Hi everyone. I have an 87 pickup with a 22R Cali. Emissions and only 260K on it..... Runs great other than the starting issue I have here.
If I let the truck sit for a week or so-
I can crank and crank and crank and not get it to start.
I take the air cleaner lid off and turn the throttle wide open by hand, there is little to no fuel being pumped by the accelerator pump. So it seams the bowl has gone dry?
I can get it to start by using starting fluid or filling the vent of the carb with fuel. Then It is back to normal until it sits for a week.
I am hoping maybe this is a common problem along with a common fix? It seems like the bowl might be slowly leaking down, but also that the fuel is leaking back to the tank and the pump isn't getting it back very easily?
Thanks in advance for any help!
