I still feel so bad about the tree rubs!
It is a bummer when you are leading to have others pick up some damage....I guess you were skinny enough to slip through some of those spots that your larger cousins to follow couldn't quite make it. That said, you've been on the loosing end of that situation yourself earning a rear bumper upgrade being the lowest clearance guy on the Coal Miner trip a few years back.

I picked up a few new scuffs, bent front bumper on the passenger wing, and not so surgically removed mud flap on the same side (different obstacle). That said, what a great 3 days on the trails! :steer: 🦀

Absolutely Eric. I have not used my winch since @kevin in okinawa took a spill at Good Evening Ranch. Fast forward after several events and my winch came out 3 times on Sat. Never dull at The Cove.
Good times were had for sure.

@prharper What is this thing? Reclaimed Power Pole from a bass boat?

@JohnVee it sure does look like it’s off a fishing boat. It’s the ARB hydraulic jack. It was starting to hit the door while jacking. Forget who recommended we might wanna try opening the door first - problem solved.

However, due to the angle which is hard to tell in pics, the majority of the truck’s weight was on that side and while using the ARB jack under the slider, it was bending the entire Bud Built slider upwards and inward. Those sliders are beefy too. That’s where the factory OEM bottle jacks came in handy under the truck.

I'm strapping this in now (and had at FC)...didnt' need to use it, but another tool along with all of the bottle jacks and high lifts from other rigs...

Also found a nicely built cradle that bolts to the floor to hold it firmly while bumpin' and grindin'.... 🦀

I spun a big boulder up into my rear wheel well and we ended up using the farm jack to just take the whole wheel off to drop it out between the tire and frame. I still have no idea how I did that.

Damn that's impressive

Burl had a pretty good explanation.
He said it was probably the top rock as I went down the ledge and the tire drug it over the edge as I came off and it rode the top of the tire around to the front where it got stuck.

I have the same jack and its currently strapped to the 3rd row seat belt bracket in my 80. I'd be very interested in the cradle you found.

Sure...i went with this one in the end...looks like it's out of stock right now, but may be able to backorder...15% Cyber Monday on entire store.

I was able to use the existing bolts (just longer ones) for my removed 2nd row seat to hold it for FC...I need to find a better spot for a permanent mount though so it's not just out in the middle of the floorspace.
