is that one in the photo then Super White as I suspect?
That’s a S African LC200

when these are built to order and come from Japan Eric why can’t we order the color we want, they have them in the factory

Yes, that is probably Super White, definitely not Blizzard Pearl. I've thought about question a lot, I don't know. I am sure fairly sophisticated though.

I have a Blizzard Pearl 2013. I really like the color and prefer it to standard white.

But, regardless of our preferences, Blizzard Pearl is the only white available for the LC in the US.

Looks like Super white ended in 2011 and replaced by Blizzard Pearl cream....so it’s not in white any more...

I had a blizzard pearl 2019 briefly. It’s definitely not white. It’s kinda the color of an old man’s hair. Whitish yellow but then with sparkles in it. Not my favorite but see why some like it a lot. Went back to black and I’m happy.

Visiting Qatar, and there are more land cruisers than I thought were possible. Seems like 2/3 of the vehicles are cruisers. I'd guess 95% of the ones I've seen have been white.

I wish I could get a new amazon green metallic though.

I'm sure it is for efficiency. The Toyota manufacturing system is so darn efficient.

I wish that they offered something similar to the paint-to-sample that Porsche did (does?). Just pay a little more and get whatever color floats your boat.

Those programs don't involve pay a "little" more. The involve paying a LOT more. They are usually around $5k - $10k depending upon the manufacturer.

i just think given the iconic status of the land cruiser around the world....white is the color that comes to mind

it just doesn’t make sense their thinking when it comes to the US market

Yes, but what is $5k if you are going to dish out $80-90k on a vehicle. It may be for a select few, but for people that can swing a new one for this much, I suspect they are a market that can afford this, if they wanted a custom or semi custom color.

I don't know anything about auto manufacturing, but several high end manufacturers have a semi-custom option like the M-division at bmw, AMG at Mercedes, I don't know what Porsche calls theirs, but they have one (x code options on the build sheet get them pulled off the line to the custom shop). It would be neat if Toyota did too.

While I am daydreaming, what would be super cool is if TRD had a semi-custom shop where you could order a la carte upgrades on your new Toyota, rather than being a sticker and parts division. Sorry, that is kind of mean.

Black 202 was the only color that was not metallic in 2013. So I have black and it has not really been an issue frankly. Black lacquer fingernail polish and your repair is done. The 40 was #679 Light Green Poly but it looked pretty dark to me. Also, not metallic. The enamels in the earlier years looked like they were an inch thick. Not that way any longer.

BMW does a great gamut of colors. But Porsche's Paint to Sample is the pinnacle of color. They will do any color. Would be cool to see that as TLC option. I'm not in that category to buy a specific color, but none the less, I'm all for it.

Blizzard Pearl is not really white..... just an observation. I actually kind of like it after owning one.

I’d call it pretty darn white! ;) At least in 2013 it is. Best color, second only to AG!

Oh, for me it would be a front bumper, sliders, winch, etc.

That's Mrs. OregonLC's 2004 LX. It's actually the third Land Cruiser that we've owned! I've tried talking her into a 570 but she views driving as a full contact sport and feels better about damaging an older vehicle. :meh:

Lotus like Porsche, McLaren and Ferrari offered a wide range of colors and paint to sample. I know from my Lotus experience only 2 colors are included in base price, then options start climbing in 4 steps at approximately 3-4k each. Most Toyota/Lexus customers are not going to pay an extra 4, 8, 12K for paint.

I didn't even like paying $425 for Blizzard Pearl. But I'm sworn off black and I wanted a HE model.

Had a 2017 Brandywine Mica - not as bad to take care of as black, but not easy either. I admit black can be amazing - for like 15 minutes or until you leave your driveway. I'm old enough now that I go for maintenance ease (white or silver) over how it looks when clean.

Yeah, I had a black car in the late 1970s. Never again -- I just don't have the time and energy to keep it clean.
