Yeah. Already bailed on the radio. Just going to leave the factory radio out and use my BIG jambox for sound on the trip.

currently dealing with safety restore on the seat belt issue. They seem lost, can’t comprehend why I have the wrong belt.

So, leaving the :princess: at home....oddly, she seems fine with that. “Wait, so I can’t go and you’re taking the boys for the weekend?! Ok!”

But going to put some miles on it later this afternoon and re check bearings, any brake leaks, make sure park brake is ok, and knuckle studs and all fluid levels.

Welp. Gonna have to do the shake down roll tomorrow work day got away from me.and hope there’s nothing to do, but load up and roll out on Friday morning.

meanwhile, she’s all put back together.
Headliner up.

I didn’t do the insulation in the roof or the rear hatch light, or install the radio, sub or back up camera, or wore up the work lights to the roof rack. But I got a lot done!!!!

Many thanks to you all. Owe ya’ll a round.

meanwhile, I hacked the rear dome light with a full 360 LED flexi light strip, it was the perfect length to wrap around the base of the dome.

Pretty awesome light output actually.

And put a red gel in the passenger dome light. The kids always want a light on to play with crap when I’m driving at night.

both totally reversible back to stock.

Really not sure that is the answer to your issue, but something in the back of my head says somewhere not to use that particular wire.

You were absolutely correct. I rewired each connection till I found the fault, and it was the antenna wire causing the issue.

Oh my.
I guess the gutters are completely overwhelmed with the Cali Pineapple Express rains.

I didn’t have leaks with the nose down hill, but nose uphill.....

seems like it is overwhelming the tray, then leaking down the b pillar into the backseat rocker, then all the the way to the rear hatch pillar via the headliner to drip into the left rear corner?
rocker drains are clean.

o_O

time to bike tube the glass or hurricane tape it $&@&ing shut!!! A pox on the dude that invented sunroofs!!!!!

...unless I chicken out and get the twin tubes.

and dammit exitoffroad has dorkels on sale....

6-8 weeks for sliders, so in a holding pattern on those.

Look for a “2021 Shock Therapy” :popcorn:thread....coming soon to a mud near you!!!

Hey BILT, when checking dese nuts (71 lb-ft), does it matter whether I do it with load on axles or axles off ground? TIA!
Doesn't specifically matter.

The load is on the bearing inside the knuckle.

The pin of the shaft holds the bearing in center but doesn't carry load.

The steering arm is what is critical to get tight. Use a deadblow hammer to hit the radiused part of the arm while torquing.

So what exactly is the check your nuts procedure? (All: Pls spare us any salacious commentary thanks ✌🏼)

Just place a torque wrench on them and tighten in a cross pattern to 71 lb-ft. If tightening after a rebuild, you do it in about 3 stages (15, 50, 71). If just checking, do a cross pattern at 71.

If you bought the nut grabbers from Wits' End, then bend the tabs over afterwards.

Otherwise, mark the arm, nut, and stud with paint marker to identify one moving later.

Dang. Been 2 years already.

Just checked my nuts before the last trip, holding strong! Never going to fall into that trap again.

Grease in the knuckles look good, was worried about the scratches in the housing messing up the seal.

Thanks again for all the help along the way.
