First time going to SCC and Hot Springs! Can someone tell us if the campsites at Hot Springs are large enough to fit a vehicle and trailer with RTT? Speaking to gentlemen on the phone made it sound like the spots were very small. We can't wait until next weekend...

Depends on what site it is. Do you know what site you have?

@Bodean - We're at site 50 & 52. If anyone has 49 or 51 and want to trade we should talk!

Sites 47 - 50 are across a foot bridge, so you won't be able park anything. They are primitive walk in sites.

And from the looks of it 51-53 are also on the other side of the creek, so walk in only too.

@OwenC I was in that overflow camping area by the foot bridge last year and able to drive my truck and M416 with RTT through the creek at a entrance just past one of the RV spots. Talk to the office when you get there and they can show you.

Completely off topic, but that map shows the office where the shop is and nothing up by the bathhouse... Old map or major change to the layout since last year?

I was wondering the same thing @jynx. It's on their website, but who knows if it's been updated.

on camp sites.

1-13 are accessed via the creek cross8ng behind rv spot 15. As @BMThiker noted, 47-50 are walk in only. The creek banks are too steep right there to drive across, well unless your Bill or Eric, then itd be an adventure. 51-53 are acessed by crossing the creek down past 56, in between a couple of overflow RV spots. You can drive back there, but a trailer with rtt plus the truck will be tight. Not sure which spot @AndyO78FJ40 was in, but we had 51 (I think) one year and it was not gonna work for our rtt on the truck, but could be a different spot. And I'm not sure what improvements the park may have made lately to improve this spots.

Thinking I may take the prize for least prepared but better to venture forth without a plan than never venture at all? I saw on the online registration page that registration is closed but folks are encouraged to come and register in person, I didn't register in time so would need to do this. Also don't have a campsite so am prepared to sleep in the rig which isn't bad at all but might mean just parking somewhere outside of the park perhaps town and going stealth.

Sound like a go? Coming from Fort Worth, TX.

Come awn!
You will be able to crash somewhere on site or sleep in your rig on site.....

Depending on how “plush” you wanta be camping in your rig or you can go down the road from turn off to the park and there is red roof inn and other hotels.

see ya there!

Very old map. Several improvements are not represented. The old office in that photo has been converted into the bunkhouse.

I think we are in 51 I never got a confirmation and its been so long I forgot LOL Were bringing something ( a FJ60 or FJ45 ) both have a RTT is it an issue with trees or a sloping hill ? Ive got til Friday to make the call. Hoping I can get this rear main seal issue fixed in the 60. No matter were coming. They never said anything about walk in sites ?

Well, id say either should be fine. From what I recall, the sites are level, but seemed to be more of an afterthought instead of planned spots. Like overflow. The spot we had was flat, but kind of tight space wise if i recall.
