Anybody else anticipating purchasing the new Tacoma?

I was in at Camelback Toyota today checking them out. I think between Thanksgiving and New Years will be the best time to get a good deal.

The options that I am excited about are push button start, blind spot indicator, and sun roof. I still am undecided on color.

they look good with lift and tires. Glad to see the tan is back!

Cool commercials running on NFL games, clearly marketed to the dirt bike play in the desert (kids, like us) crowd. Regardless of the odd engine, rear drum brakes, same basic suspension, I'm sure Toyota will sell a ton of them.

Here's the DC without the bling grille. And a desert tan 4Runner...

Nice. Did it have the rear locker?

I'm digging that tan color! Now I just need a Tundra in that color with a Cummins

Maybe I am just grumpy this AM, but I am not impressed with this 'new' Tacoma. It looks like a minor cosmetic update with a big nose and a tattoo on its butt. The tan color (being nostalgic and all) does not look good IMO. Honestly I think Toyota could have done so much better in the face of mounting competition from Chevrolet (diesel Colorado). I had hoped it would be something that I would desire, but it is not... I owned a first gen Tacoma and have been a life long Toyota lover but I think they have lost their way a bit...

^^^ Well it certainly looks to be exactly the same cab with different interior. Smaller displacement engine. Still (STILL) no rear disk brakes. And a cop-out on the reason why (referring to the posted article on 4WD Toyota Owners' Facebook page where they had a video with one of the Toyota engineers explaining that off-roading can damage rear disks and besides nobody tows with a Tacoma anyway so why bother (I guess the FJCruiser was never used off-road cause of those fragile rear disks)). And as far as I know it's pretty much the same suspension. Still, Toyota will still sell oodles of them and outsell Canyon/Colorado by a huge margin so you can't really fault Toyota for staying with a winning formula. Hey the new one has an available SUNROOF finally. Which if I were to get a new one it would have that.

I think for the amount of $ they get for a new one, there would have been more done to upgrade. That being said, they have no real competition so why bother.

I heard it still has drum rear brakes

Couldn't agree more. Nice looking truck, awesome track record, no in class competition. Tan looks good. I know its apples and oranges but, it sure makes a used 200 look like a steal.

There you are! You and the lady able to go this weekends run?

I saw a new taco up close today and I have to say I'm not a fan.. Seems like there is 3 ft from the grill to the ac condenser.... Though I still like the tan no matter what MK says...

Not a fan of it - The fronts of these and the 4runner looks like a transformer and not my taste.
