Rob, you're missing it! It would seem that a large Alberta contingent has gone down.
Jim, I think you'd fit right in to this. I never eve thought about it, until I tried to get a hold
of Peter.

Yep, the weather is great also...me Ward were suppose to run down in his left hand drive BJ73 but its not ready... George and his son are at the meet representing Terrain Tamer..Been probably 8 years since my last time down for that meet, it is really fun and laid back..

FJ45 diesel.webp
20 hours in the turbo diesel FJ45, great run, hung out with G&S Cruiser guys, Greg and Sheldon..

About 2AM Pismo Jim heard the Canadians around the camp fire and very nicely got out of bed and greeted us with his famous Tequila,..

I would love to do this some day but 20 hours in a 40 with tire hum , death wobble , and wind whistles would drive me to drink even more than i already do if that is humanly possible.

Tow it behind your Tundra? :D

;Ya if I ever go back I will probably fly into Stockton and catch a ride with George, not a fun drive especially through flatlands California...

No complaints with the 1hz turbo j45 with parabolic springs and prelude seats through one of the worst storms in Oregon, pushed that bread box of a truck around on the freeway, felt like a kite.

I bet that 45 has "the one that got away" status. Nice truck.

That truck had some history for sure, Alberta born, sold into BC, I picked it up in the White Rock area sitting on the side of the road with a for ale sign in the window.

Brought it home, tore it down to the frame, added power steering,, powder coated the frame, changed the colour to mustard, sold it to a guy from Cali, it sat in my yard for another year. Got a call from the guy in Cali asking me if i could help him sell it, called a guy in Boston, he purchased it from the guy in Cali...

Then it came off the frame for another colour change, back to original tan, out came the 2F in went the 1hz,h55 from GS Cruisers, later Billy Wooten the owner wanted a turbo, so we bolted on a Denco, still my favourite turbo kits. Ordered some parabolic springs from the UK, they were the nicest riding springs out of the box. Fawcett boat tops in Parksville did the soft top, these guys do incredible work. I almost forgot we added PTO on the truck, kinda retro.

Billy Wooten used to stay with us a coupe times a year while I built the truck, great guy and one of the oldest Browns University profs, on his list of people he taught was JFK Junior...

Good times at the S@T's I've attended. Been a few years though. Almost time for a repeat. Glad some Cdns went down and partook.
