After talking with her, I think the wife is down for the San Juan trip before we leave CO, instead of sightseeing along the way to NY. I won't tell her what trails are in the area until we get there. She's not a fan of shelf roads!

Where's Holy Cross, and Carnage Canyon fit in? ;)

You will have to talk with Luke. I think he tries to do that one every year but he is one of them renegades. Lol

Just a question but are the trails going to be open in the San Juan's by the end of June?

Looks like a pretty good schedule.

I would be surprised if the San Juan trails will open by then.

If San Juans aren't open, we could do a trip near Estes Park for some variety. Good camping in the area and plenty of trails.

There was some talk yesterday about switching the "Gulches" to March and "China Wall" to February. We could also take a "wait and see" approach to how much snow we actually have, just make the switch now, or leave it "as is". I'd be cool with whatever and defer to those of you with much more experience in these matters than myself.

Let's put this to a vote at the meeting on Tuesday.

The traditional date for access to the high country passes is July 4. Snow depth and snowmelt rate varies from year to year, but many people consider July 4 as when the passes are accessible.

Received this in my email:
