I posted right after buying my LX how much the seats don't work for me and received some good feedback. As someone suggested I took my seats into an auto upholster and they replaced the foam with softer foam. A few months later I'm still suffering. My Honda Odyssey, my Exmark mower, :) even my 2000 Dodge ram with cloth seats and no features are all more comfortable than my LX. I sat in a Land Crusier and the seats in that felt a little better. I love the LX in every other way, it's a great vehicle! But I need to either figure out a seat swap or sell it. Sorry for the rant, if anyone has ideas I'm all ears.

Must be bad if a honda has better seats- our 16 pilot's seats are misery on long trips.
I digress.
If you are in the position to do so, source some quality aftermarket seats and have them installed?

Wow, months of suffering :frown: . I'm not sure a seat swap is feasible, given integration with safety systems. I'd suggest selling and getting something comfortable. Or just put a turbo in that Exmark mower and go with that. Life is too short to suffer a vehicle uncomfortable for you.

Yeah, I don't think you guys are wrong. I've done a bunch of searching and don't think there is a seat swap that makes sense. I'd go with the turbo Exmark but I'd miss not having air conditioning. :) This post was a hail mary to see if someone had a miracle idea.

14-way adjustable drivers seats and you can't find as position that's not a deal breaker.

Everyone is different though.

What's support or ergonomics is not working for you?

As funny as it sounds a firmer foam compound may prove a better choice. Top custom motorcycle seat builders/ upholsterers routinely put firmer foam in their long distance riding customers seats. It worked for me as I often spent 16 hours + a day in the seat.

I think I'm too broad shouldered for the back rest. I don't sit in the seat, I kinda sit across the bolsters. I'm no giant but the side bolsters really dig in after 20 min or so.

I find the seat backs to be pretty flat with minimal bolstering as far as automotive seat backs go. Every other car I've had has deeper or more sculpted seat backs.

Is there a back cushion or insert that could be used to flatten the bolstering?

Is there a brand/car model has better seats that work for you? Perhaps a non-asian brand or domestic car?

Believe it or not the most comfortable car seats I ever had were in my Hyundai Genesis. I called it the Korean Lincoln. Super wide but very awesome. Somewhat like sitting on a sofa. Having said that the LX is way better in every other way except the seats. And I really loved the Genesis.

I understand where you’re coming from. I had to sell my GX460 because the side booster is too aggressive. LC is better than GX for my body.

What have you got to lose?

Ha! This will be the everlasting dilemma. (Side note) I had an 09’ cayenne turbo and I didn’t think it was uncomfortable (it wasn’t necessarily plush) but my wife hated it and that’s all that mattered. There is nothing more uncomfortable than hearing her whine for 4 hours on a road trip.

the LX is comfortable by my standards- I’m 6’ and she is 5’3 and the seats are wide enough, long enough, however, it is no land yacht like a 3rd gen LS.

Is there something softer out there? Probably. Is there something more comfortable, more reliable, capable and practical? Probably not. (That’s a dig on anyone with g-wagon or Range Rover in case you missed it)

life is a balance, what are you willing to give up?

A quality custom upholstery shop can do whatever you want. Or look into scheel-mann usa | Orthopedic Automotive Seats

If you find a back cushion works for you, you can hide them under a larger seat cover. I seem to recall someone posting some nice overloading style seat covers. Perhaps a way to try before you commit with upholsters to modify the seat?

i have an 08 and my wife an 2011. I love the seats and the ride. Not sure what you re experiencing.
