Looking for any help pinning down what this is. I’ve left it at three different dealers for a total of a month this year and none are able to “replicate” the sound despite my demonstrating it for them when I drop off the truck. Some facts- rarely makes noise during winter only in the summer months. It went away for an entire month then came back. Is related to when the car rocks from side to side like going from a driveway to road over the curb or as in the video driving over a two inch lip at under 10 mph. It sounds like it’s coming from the dash but when I turn off the vehicle and stand on the running boards and rock it I hear the sound coming from what seems like the frame under drivers side middle row. It drives me absolutely crazy and I just want it to go away!!

Ya that would drive me nuts too.

Sounds like a marble or ball bearing laying in a depressions, wobbling back and forth. Something loose.

That’s exactly how I’ve described it but with the acoustics of a car interior it’s really a challenge to even figure out where to start looking. It’s odd that when it’s cold I don’t recall hearing it. Not once last winter and I thought I was home free then it showed up in spring. I get the sense the dealers don’t even want to find it when I drop it off...

It kinda sounds like an unused connector that is hanging free and sliding on the body or frame. I've had pretty much all the plastic out of my interior, and I'm surprised how many free connectors there are on this thing.

There's one on the driver's side frame rail, right near the infamous KDSS bleeder/balancing valve. Maybe check it out.

(Pitt grad, 1981, BTW)

Thanks for that tip! I was wondering if it was emanating from something kdss related as when under the truck it seems like it’s coming from the drivers side frame under the middle row. When your driving it sounds like it’s coming from the dash beer the windshield.

Not sure if you still live around Pittsburgh but been here 5 years and it’s got a lot to offer!

Last time I was in "da berg" was 2008. I miss Pramanti's, but not much else. Oh, and the Original Hot Dog Shop in Oakland. Hope it's still there.

Search underneath your driver and passenger seat carpet. Ive located a multitude of dropped items that found their way in those cavities. The carpet pulls back, go digging. Good luck
