What happened to Wheeler Lake? Maybe you're just ignoring my input :D
I would put something additional in May since I suspect most will not be in Moab.

BTW Cruise MOAB is a registration required event that fills up rather quickly. Unlikely anybody would be able make a game time decision. Unless you beg/bribe the rising sun guys

I thought Wheeler lake was a boring trail ;) The only good parts where going in the mine and fishing. Anyway, good call on the May trail run. I think if nothing gets put in august, I would like to run Holy Cross again. Maybe Black Bear pass?

Really... boring?? You don't have to go ;). Maybe it was all the sitting around while the heep was stuck. Then waiting for the LandRover convoy. I think the timing was an issue as well.

I think most members couldn't do Holy Cross, at least without body damage.

I won't be at the meeting I will be going to visit family. But I wanted to get back to you on the switzerland trail. I just mentioned it because a few guy's I know from denver usually go and start out there. It sounds like a rampart range road kind of a trail that if it snows a lot it could be fun. I talked to one of the guy's up there and he said it wouldn't be a lot of fun without the snow and he doesn't think around that time that there will be much there. He did suggest Miller Rock. He said it might have a lot of snow where you will probablly need straps and such. You also have to call ahead to the rancher and he will unlock the gate to the south half where most of the snow is. If you just want to change the trail altogether it won't hurt my feelings. I just thought I would share the info since I won't be attending.

Let me see if I remember Wheeler lake...last time we went...

We had some yahoos in a jeep...we got stuck...
I got up the trail and waited for 1 hr for some sort of lifeform to make it up the trail that was from our club.

The traffic on the trail was terrible, kinda like a mini traffic jam coming down.

Took some great pics...
Got to gloat that I made it up without any lockers...
Had someone in a Dodge Pickup try to make it up an obsticle that was way out of its leage...

What a great time....:flipoff2:

I was speaking of Wheeler in terms of scenery. It just didn't spark my soul like some of the other trails do.

I think Holy Cross' difficulty is overrated. Last time I was there, there were Jeeps and Toyota's on 33's making it look easy. We even had a guy in a UZJ100 make it through on 32's with no damage.

I was under the impression it was much harder, just from the war stories. Just may have to try it.

On Holy Cross you can pick the obstacles to hit or you can just go on by. Cleveland rock is at the top but you can just stop at Holy Cross the town and turn around. Maybe a good run to put in September?

The mountain trails may not be accessible until the end of June at the earliest so it gest kind of hard to spread them out.

I think it works better to have one scheduled trail per month and let people schedule and post up if they want to add trail runs. The once a month scheduled trail runs are not exactly overloaded with people so I don't see how adding more trips to the schedule this early in the year will help the participation level.

2011 CLC Trip Schedule - 1st DRAFT

All, I have posted the 2011 trip schedule on the club web site for all to see. The dates, for the most part, are tentative, with the exception of the years 1st run Jan 22. And yes I know the summer picnic appears in both July and August. The club needs your input on the best dates for this as well as for the dates for the runs. For the most part I put in dates which are after the monthly club meeting. Nothing more exotic than that. Please provide your inputs to the trip planning committee so the decisions can be made for what you want the actual dates to be. This schedule has a little for all skill levels, as well as opportunities for getting out to camp and enjoy our beautiful backyard.
