I just couldn't fathom going from a twisted custom buggy to a Polaris . That's like going from a nitro RC car to a hotwheel.

flame if you want... but i say they're almost equal. Sure there's things that neither can do like the other... but after thr RBD comp, to see two rzrs scoot up Los Primos faster than any slingshot buggy... has friggin' hilarious. I've seen rzr's do lines (and actually back down them) that I've watched bigboy buggy's struggle for literally hours on.
I was a hater initially, but damn those things crawl.

Go watch some of Timmy's rzr videos posted up by Cole... that crap is insane.

Lenny,

You stay out of my chinaman crack.

Don't worry I am only interested In golden crack ;)

that's just dirty....

should'nt you be spending your time coming up with a "to-do" and parts list for the sammy?! :wrench:

get busy!

Speaking of which I will have all parts in today for drivetrain. Georg Call me next week I need to figure out a shifter assembly and some other stuff, if you don't mind. Stuff like -Is there a way to figure out which yolks I have on the Dana 300? The guy says they are 1310 CV. But I would like to make sure Before I start looking at driveshaft orders. I would like to use the toyota DC Dshafts I have. I know there is a yota flange for the atlas but is there one for the d300 with HD front and rear outputs. I here you can run say a 1310 on one end and a yota on the pinion end. Any who, let's talk next week.

This is like being in the 80 section...
Like I said, I like the RZRs, nolen couldn't wait for me to leave the night of the campout awhile back, since i wouldnt get outa his RZR, but for 15-18k you can have a nice 4wd that you can drive on the street as well as trails. Plus I don't have the acreage to enjoy it on a regular basis. If it was 3-6k, I am all over it.

..count the splines son! ...and take it from there!

find out where the D300 came from and find the Stock specs, go count the splines and make sure still stock or if it has been updated to the 32 splines, which is the most desirable.

I did that on the rear output of my NP205.

I changed it to the 32 spline and got a 1310 yoke(instead of a flange) from JBconversions, which also fits the D300.

I just had to find a seal that would fit/seal the yoke(had to find it, basically whatever fits)

once you figure the splines look for the flange, they sell them Lenny!

For a drive shaft I used a 1310 CV on the T-case from a jeep or old bronco(can't recall) and a 1350/1310 on the diff.

....which I broke/ in 2009 at you al's event! broke yoke on driveshaft, the U-joint and the yoke on the 14 bolt, along with the straps for the U-joint. Yep I broke, but it was fun!:grinpimp:

I replaced the diff' end of the driveshaft w/ a yoke for a 1350 U-joint(mostly found on 1 ton truck)

I have not bought the fancy/expensive driveshafts yet since I might modify my drivetrain again!:hillbilly:

it's an EZ challenge sir!

leny, if your d300 has the upgraded outputs then it's all 32 spline stuff. same as the 205 and atlas. inchworm makes a flange for them that accepts 4 or 5 different toyota patterns. i'm pretty sure i have a couple of them at the shop. let's put it on your shopping list. i have the kids this week so i don't have much time to dig thru stuff but next week i'm flying solo.

Sent ya a pm with a stage 1 shopping list. ; )

Toyota u joints should be stronger than 1310s, correct? I believe there equivalent to 1350s.

I also need to figure out a crossmember mount for the dana 300. I don't want to hang all that weight off the auto.

Lenny, it depends on how the auto is mounted. 95% of all Atlas' are free standing. It is the way they are designed. Same as a D300. I have run high HP and have never had an issue as long as your auto has a good crossmember.

I realize this is not the hard way to do it, but it is the standard way of doing it.

on an atlas you have the option of a rear support/mount. on the d300 you will be ok by supporting it from the bottom of the adapter and or trans.

maybe we outta start a new thread for lenny's sami so this one does'nt get completely sideways?! just a though, i know this is a club forum and i'm just making a suggestion. not here to tell anybody what to do....
