All, first post on the 200 series board having just purchased a fully serviced since new 2010 LX570 w/ 57k miles; came from an LX450, and I truly love the lx570 so far as it's a little roomier than my earlier LX450 & 2015 Tacoma.

Question I have for everyone is that mine came with only one fob, and I'd like to buy a replacement for a spare; where do you buy from?

Lexus dealer? If so, from the dealer I was quoted approx. $27x.xx + $60-ish for the programming.

Do I try my luck buying online for 1/2 price, and have Lexus program it? If so, is there a specific, reputable vendor?

Thanks so much, in advance, and I intend on contributing as much as I can when I can!

Welcome! I wish I had an answer on this one. Mine just gave me a "low key battery" alert this am, so I am on my way to get a CR1632 battery to replace.

Purchased one on Fleebay back in May for $120. Found a local private locksmith that came to my house to program and cut for another $60. Wish I had purchase the Lexus Smart Card Key though. It's like a credit card and stays in your wallet.

Thx all; a co-worker recently bought a fob from an online retailer, and Lexus was unable to program it so I'm leaning toward paying the extra $ to buy from Lexus as much as I frankly just don't want to...

Dealer will tell you that because they want to sell you their key. The one I got is OEM Denso, not some aftermarket. Any locksmith with Techstream software can program it. Actually, you can if you have tech stream and the know how. There are tutorials online.

And I stand corrected, I purchased mine here: Replacement Keyless Entry Remotes and Key Fobs Replace My Remote

When I bought my 08 LX CPO it came with 2 key fobs and the card key. I only carry the card key in my wallet as its so much more convenient than the fob. If you bought your LX from a dealer maybe ask them for the other key fob and the card key as it should come with the truck.

Thanks, Bawa, interesting...is your LX equipped with remote start? If so, is remote start compatible with the card key?

All, thought an update would be helpful particularly for anyone needing a replacement, in the future.

I ended up buying from replacemyremote.com, for $11x.xx shipped (and $$$ for programming / cutting by a locksmith), but if I had it to do over again I'd purchase from a dealer, and let them program it & cut the key.

My reasoning is that most of the fobs sold by replacemyremote (and other vendors) have already been programmed at least once before, and, well, they require a locksmith to reset the ECU in order to use them; Lexus would not reset my ECU b/c it's too risky.
To that end, it's much better particularly for peace of mind, to order new (never programmed) via Lexus.

Thanks for the update. The OEM fob I received from replacemyremote.com was NOS. cost was $120ish. I called 6 or 7 local locksmiths I found via google and went with the most competent sounding guy who charged me $60 to program and cut. He came to our house and it took him less then an hour. No reset of the ECU was required.

Could an LX key card be programmed for an LC?

Yes. Someone on here has already done it. Can't recall who's build thread it was in? They did a bunch of cool stuff to their LC right after getting it to include the key card. That's how I learned about it.

That's what I did; see my post from Tuesday...I truly hope your experience was better than mine with re to having it programmed

Hi all, I need some advice. I'm looking to replace my spare fob for my 2010 LX570. To avoid programming issues, I've decided to purchase a brand new. I found the OEM part #89904-60A00 on LexusPartsNow.com. However, the only brand new fob available for sale right now has part #89904-0E050. All the other numbers, even the chip board #, is the exactly the same. My question: Are Lexus key fobs interchangeable? Can I used a fob (meant for RX350) for my LX570? TYIA

Hi all,
I'm having a horrible time trying to register a new key fob with TechStream. I can't seem to get pass the last step (after placing the original fob and then the new fob on the start button) which is placing the key on the passenger seat. I get a registration fail message. Hopefully somebody who's had a similar experience can chime-in and provide some pointers. Here's what I've done so far:

1. Installed TechStream v12.20.24 with cable v1.4.1 on Virtual Machine. Thanks getco!
2. Purchased used "refurbished" fob from keylessentryremotefob.com. Didn't work. Thinking it was the fob's issue, I returned it.
3. Changed country setting in TechStream to United Kingdom (read from Lexus forum)
4. Purchased new (advertised as new) fob on eBay. Still can't get it to work!!!
5. Using the original fob in TechStream, I confirmed that the proximity sensor works as it detects my original fob
6. FCC and transponder chip IDs are a match.

Is this a TechStream issue? Cable? Fob? Your input is greatly appreciated :D
