Clarkson used to own a 100 series cruiser (amazon I think it's badged in the UK). He's still an ardent rangerover fan.

He got a rangerover stuck and bought the cruiser along to pull it out. Couldn't get to where the rangie was, but the fault there was mainly the tyres.

I wonder if his favoritism towards Range Rover will continue once TATA completes their acquisition. I think TATA should hold off for a bit to be honest, with this recession right now I think it would be prudent to wait for a few months. Ford will be in a major bind and TATA will easily save a few percentage points off the deal. I recall a few firms buying into Citigroup and a few of the other big banks & I advised them to wait. Such idiots, rushing into the market

I think it will. He still liked them when the Germans owned them, then the Yanks.
Sounds like the Tata deal has already gone through. I think they could be one of the best owners for the brand, especially for the future of the defender and military vehicles. Unfortunately for Tata, ford just finished slotting their engines into the entire lineup. Essentially undoing what BMW acheived.

Now who's next to buy Jaguar?

no clue. your best bet is to ask someone at allen & overy

It's really hard to tell, maybe legend computers or some UAE sovereign wealth fund. Recently they tried to buy liverpool and the bid was rejected. It wouldn't' surprise me if they will try to buy jaguar
