Bringing this up.
Looks like a great trip and VERY FUN trail fix.
How is the Transferflow Tank working out? Install yourself and hows CARB in the Cali truck.
thanks
I have a 2010 Crewmax and will be modding with a tank as well.

The tank is fully setup for CARB, at the time on got this one they were still waiting on certification but has all the safety shutoffs, as well as a seperate emmisions box that hooks in so the computer and emissions stay in check.

The only down side is the fuel remaining calculator will not work correctly with the bigger tank, must have been a fix calculation based on the one tank size but the gauge and everything work great.

I was surprised to find out the original tank was plastic, I feel better witht eh Alum tank.

Cheers,

Michael

Michael, I might have to come see you when I get back to SD. I have been meaning to get out to your shop. A new Tundra might be just the ticket for me.
You and Jan are making me jealous with all these diesel cruisers. I saw Jan on Miramar Road one day years ago when I had my 60 but haven't had a chance to meet him in person yet either.

Nice Truck!

Any time :) Keep in mind my Tundra is one of the first of the new generations, I got it back in Feb of 2007, but so far they are all the same up to current year. Drop me a pm and I will give you my number.

Cheers,

Michael

Sounds good I'll definitely contact you when I get back to SD. I may have to spend a little time in the Persian Gulf first...

A TUNDRA is a 200 series Land Cruiser with a pick-up box:). It's today's FJ45. :cheers:Brendon

No that is not the case, the Tundra is a pickup version of the Sequoia, they share the runing gear as well as frame and chassis that is very close.

On the Land Cruiser 200 series only some of the drivetrain is shared the chassis and frame are complelty different as well as teh transfer case and the computer controls. If you like the Tundra they you would love the 200 even more advanced on suspension and computer control.

Cheers,

Michael

Frame between Tundra and Sequoia is the same only from the a-pillar foward. Tundra then shiftes to modified C-channel and then open c-channel. Sequoia is fully boxed all the way through Tundra frame is horrible.

I am not sure I would agree the Tundra is horible, not sure why you say that, other than your expectations.

The design is the same as Toyota does with the Land Cruiser Frame and the differences from the wagon to the pickup like is the case on the 7x series, the 70 swb and 76 series wagon are boxed front to rear the 79 series pickup is not boxed midway back. This has been the case with Toyota for quite a long time and the quality of the pickups all the way back to the 4x series Cruiser Pickups is excellent.

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers,

Michael

I has been a while since I have posted anything about my Tundra, and for the most part, I use it for hauling and a few expeditions now and again. for an 07' it is pretty low on miles I have 34k on it. Anyway I felt like I was neglecting the tundra so I put a few extras on it.

I will say that the stock rear bumper is pretty cheap and it was the first thing to get dented up so I finally put a nice bumper on it, I forget where I got it, maybe Expeditions somthing or other, the design is great the powder coating was a joke.

New bumper works great, added LED lights in bolts to mount plate (got that from another Tundra owner out here, he had the bumper and lights first, very cool).

More to follow....

The latest update I finally got to this weekend. Any of you that know me know that I am a big fan of Snorkels. and unfortunetly I was not able to find anyone that makes a snorkel for the newer style Tundra (ok I find one but it was pretty bad). So after check and looking around I decided to make a Sorkel from something else work on my Tundra. Here are the pics of what I think is the only newer Tundra with a Safari Snorkel on it.
