they have killed the Cruiser ever since the 60 series....... just getting uglier and uglier.....:frown:

That RR had me fooled too...and I own a P38...

Fugly! : (

I can't believe they did not incorporate the extractor vents on the back (D ? ) pillar. They have had vents like that since the 55 series, I believe. My first opinion is that I don't really like the restyle, but usually it takes some time to warm up to a new model. That being said, from these pics it DOES LOOK LIKE A SUPERSIZED PREVIOUS BODIED HIGHLANDER...THAT IS NOT A COMPLIMENT BY ANY MEANS !!! Gut feeling here is that I am going to jump ship and get a Range Rover S/C. But I better wait to see this thing in person.

Huh

Those don't have a solid front axle. :flipoff2:

IFS. I agree, 60-series can't be topped in the rugged, no-nonsense, utility-based, "curves are for ladies" Cruisers.

What I think is that Toyota has always had "style", something that distinctly separates their models from the mainstream manufacturers, however what I see with this is just yet another mainstream "looking" vehicle that blends in with the crowd of everything else, even the back looks like a VW Toureg or Mitsubishi???

I hate to say it but I don't think that the bold rugged lines of yesteryear have much of a chance in the future... that's why I have a good stockpile of the true iron... Vintage Cruisers forever!!!

Actually after studying the pics...honestly, once the Japanaese aftermarket comes out with fender flares....and they will, it will be very cool. I never liked the 100 series because they had no or very slim fender flares. But numerous pics I have seen in Japan with 40-50 MM fender flares on the 100 series and it's a whole new aggressive look. I'm sure with wide flares ithe new Cruiser will look much better. And you have to admit, 381 h.p.........that's incredible.
