Went and saw the LX 470 this evening. The body is in good shape without any dents, however there are some small scratches here and there, which is not bad for a 2004. The seller had the car in the shop for an EVAC repair, which he explained that the EVAC canister was replaced. While at the shop, the front brakes were replaced. The car cannot smog for some time since the codes were just cleared. I'm not familiar with this part. Is this something minor?
There is no rust on the body of the car but I do see rust underneath. The engine under the hood is dusty but doesn't look bad except for some rust on some parts around the engine. It doesn't look too bad but at the same time I'm not familiar with how much rust is okay. The seller agreed for me to take it to an independent mechanic for inspection.
The car drove great, very smooth, no vibrations at all, and I don't hear any ticking.
Hopefully the inspection goes well. If so, I'll be a new 100 series LX owner. I was able to negotiate a little on the price due to the upcoming 90K service that needs to be done.
Is there anything that I should have the mechanic look at closely besides the rust?
