2002 under seat nav is outdated aftermarket.

Hey so after I got rid of the dreaded ahc and welded the cat heatshield to stop rattling I've come to the navigation unit.

The car is a 2002 land cruiser Cygnus imported from Japan. And when it was imported somehow someone has replaced the oem nav with a clarion nax9500e.

my issue is this system is way out of date no new maps etc available. Are there any current units available similar to this? (I.e. navigation units which don't have a screen and can be coneected the same way this has been connected.)

My 2002 LX470, USA version, also has the under seat Navigation unit.
It works just fine with the U02 7.1 DVD but when I utilize the U08 13.1 DVD
it has occasional "No Disc" errors.
The U08 is definitely an improved Navigation DVD and looks better on the
screen ... but, the occasional "No Disc" error has made me revert back
to the older U02 DVD.

Its that silly model which we cant swap out for dvd or anything else cos ac controls are on screen. Im uploading a google pic ... mine is rhd though
