Tromping around my Uncle’s place near me...

Lakeside, CA just east of San Diego...

Camera angle flattens the scene...but I’m actually fairly high above the property in the wider shots...

Nice.

But I’m curious...
-Is that some weird mineral deposit or something? Seems incredibly green and yet an unlikely landscape for to find a bunch of algae....
??

We have a lot of water here in WA like that from snow melt on the mountains. The water picks up minerals on its way out.

Definitely some kind of mineral deposit. It’s a neat place, no water in or out but is always green and always full. We have dropped a line 200’ down and didn’t hit bottom.

Heres where the 37’s landed. Its fun. I took it from bone stock to a legit built Beast. Makes my 200 feel like a cadillac and I appreciate the 200 more.

Man, those beastly tires makes you (or likely anyone standing next to them) seem itty bitty ...and you aren’t in any way itty bitty. Ha! It’s beeyooteeful. :hillbilly:

Thanks @Markuson
Haha I thought the same thing after I saw the pic. its large

2wd? Front diff removed or just disconnected? What's been done to the front end?

Pretty sure I saw where he removed the front diff and set it up for 2wd desert racer, it really deserves its own build thread he's done some detailed test and tuning with results of the different setups. Basically set it up like a prerunner with long travel suspension and prerunner front fenders. Think he also has a 2nd 200 with 4wd intact so the best of both worlds.

Bubba officially Goes a little less Beast...
285/75/17 it is...
I do admit the 35’s looked better for sure and I visually noticed immediately. I’ve loved beating the trails with 35’s... But the accommodations required to fit them weren’t long-term healthy.

On the bright side, I could easily feel the difference in acceleration though not dramatic. A bit less weight and especially a few more revolutions per mile make a difference. Not huge, but enough to see benefit in ratio with a bit shorter tire.

(Which means I now have a VERY nice, quiet, deep&even tread, newish 5-tire set of 35x12.5x17 E Nitto Ridge Grapplers available for sale. :) )

Say it ain't so! :crybaby:

Ya... Not thrilled. But it needed to happen at least for now.

Someday I’ll start cutting stuff out in front and revisit 35’s or maybe even 37’s if I make it to North Carolina some day, but for now, this makes sense.

Honestly, the main visual difference is mostly the narrower stance. I may go to 1” Boras. instead of .75” and then I’ll feel better. because my wheel wells will make me glance lovingly at them again... haha

I think that's a good choice. IMO the width is the killer more than the height. I think the 200 is happiest with a tire no wider than about 11.5", and a good size to check out in the future is 285/75/18 which of course means new wheels too. I ran 285/75/17 and now run 285/70/18 which is essentially the same size overall (and 275/65/20 on the LX which is the same height just a touch narrower) and think they are the perfect sizes with little drama. Unsprung weight is the best kind to ditch if you can!

I have been very happy with the 1.25" spidertrax.
