Appalachian Toyota Round-Up

During Labor Day Weekend in Tennessee at WindRock ORV park. A great event for all skill levels, and for all who just want to meet up with other Toyota enthusiast.
I'll be there as part of the BudBuilt crew with my wife and 2 year old son. But I was saying to myself, "self," it would also be cool to make a 200 group. That way, whether your are a hardcore wheeler, or are looking to start getting offroad, but haven't yet because you are waiting go with a like minded group, I think we could make it fun for all.

November 10th-12th, Ranger, GA
24th Annual Southern Appalachian Expedition
Join us for the the 24th annual SAE hosted by Solaros. This year the event will return to Jay Bird’s beautiful property in Ranger GA.

The Southern Appalachian Expedition has been held every fall since 1994 as a family friendly gathering of the Southern Land Rover Society, a Georgia based Land Rover club. The event features camaraderie, camping, food, trail rides, and the Solaros auction.

Every year SAE features an auction with items donated by venders sold off and the proceeds donated to charity. For the past few years Solaros has been proud to support the Towns and Union County branch of Habitat for Humanity. Last year through generosity of our donors and the enthusiasm of our bidders, we were able to donate $10,000 to Habitat for Humanity. In the previous 23 years SAE has been held, the club has been able to donate over $100,000 to charities. Come join us in November for our annual fall gathering near Jasper GA.

Event Details:
- Register and pay on site upon arrival
- SAE Dates: November 10-12
- Located at Stone Mill in Ranger GA
- GPS: N34 31.521 W84 38.829

Sounds like an awesome set of events!

Just one more reason I'm looking forward moving East from California. Colorado is close enough to the "middle" that road trips to just about anywhere in the 48 aren't ridiculous. Would love to wheel in the East... For that matter...the north, south and beyond. The wife and I ( :princess: :hillbilly: ) are sooo ready to move.

I like the idea of an east coast focused group/thread. There are a lot of us on this side of the country. I have a few things cooking for Labor day, but if they don't come through, I'll be in for Windrock. Great park!

I just might stick those dates on my calendar. Big East Beast

I'll see if I can talk the wife in to it. Just moved to the area so it'd be nice to meet some other 200 people.

Man I'd love to do this....I'll see what the wife says. That's usually a busy work weekend for me. We're planning on overland expo east though.

Sounds great, I'll definitely pencil that in. I'm definitely planning on overland expo again. That's a great event and a great place for brewery fun after a day at the expo!

Busy weekend for me and the family, but I would hate to miss meeting some other 200 owners from the area. I doubt I can get the wife to change our plans this late but would be game for joining up with a 200 group at a later date if anyone wants to organize something.

Well, based on your guys input and a few PMs I've gotten, I think I'll edit the first post to make this thread an upcoming 200 east coast group events calendar and attendees.

That way we can all get some predictability and shared knowledge on all these events.

For anyone interested to join, I’m going to this Southern Appalachian Expedition this weekend. It held by a Land Rover Club, but any vehicle can come. Looks like a good time.

Wish I could go. I'll be attending an Elton John concert in the bustling metropolis of Evansville Indiana for my wifes birthday wish...yeah!

We've been to the VOR for the past 5 years so fairly certain we'll be back again this year. It's an awesome event!

Here's a photo of the upper pasture from this past year, you can spy three 100s. There was a 200 there but I didn't get a chance to say hello. The trails are TIGHT, so expect some pinstriping and be prepared for some battle scars on the tougher trails.

What's on the agenda for 2018? I just did a little trip in WV and had a great time. I want to hit a few of the normal places in VA that I did in my 4runner a few years back.

Reviving this thread. Thinking about going to VOR at the end of September. Another 200 going would give me the push I need to sign up. Will definitely be attending Overland Expo East.

Going to Appalachian Toyota Roundup this next weekend. Lots of trails to choose from.

Would've made Upstate Cruisers Over the Mountain Tour if I could've missed my own birthday party this weekend. :bang:

We'll be at Expo East, oldest kiddo got approved as a kids instructor this year. Don't know if we'll roll in the 100 or 200 yet. Not like there's any wheeling to do so guess it doesn't matter really. Last year we were the only '16+ there and that was good for kicks but that's old news now so maybe we'll bring the 570 for fun.

Buddy is trying to drag me up to Appalachian Toyota Roundup. That'll be a gametime decision with it also being the season FB opener for my alma mater, it is a gimme game so not as enticing and it'll be hot as haites there. Thats 2 strikes already! Probably will take the 100 if I go to that as the armor and lockers will open up more options for me there.
