200 series buyers beware - check your windshield

@blatant is on point. You just don't know how bad this can be. People that have leaks but no electrical issues yet are finding corrosion in the body harness connectors located in that area.. and dealing with it correctly involves depinning everything, cleaning, and reassembling. (some of those connectors have 60 slots)

Sounds like a headache you don't want.

On the subject:

Saw this Autotrader LX. Clear rear windshield... that doesn't look right on a 2013 (at least not a U.S. market one!)

Here's the history going back to December 2018 until May 2019. I know I should walk. If I lived closer I would investigate the driver's kick panel and poke around all the connectors to see the extent of the damage. I'm not even sure if the water problem has been fixed.

The plastic trim pieces on the roof just behind the windshield were both popped up too. The drivers side was completely pulled up and the passenger side was starting to come up. I'm guessing this was a result of the troubleshooting process. All of these notes are coming from the Lexus dealer in Tulsa.

That's a hard pass.

Spoke to Lexus dealer that serviced this 200. They recommended installing two new wiring harnesses to the PO for $12,000. He declined. The dealer was very transparent and basically said run away! I cancelled my flight and now to deal with the GM dealer and get my deposit back. There were no papers signed so hopefully there's no issue.

GM sales person was very courteous and the dealership immediately gave me my deposit back. They also asked for the service information from Lexus so they could follow up on it.

Checking for water or signs that water was in the drivers side kick panel will be on my list of things to look out for in the 200s.

Realistically the harnesses could most likely be salvaged but yes it would be some work, and the dealer wouldn't want to do it.

Sadly someone with less resources/diligence is going to end up buying this thing and have tons of problems..

I was called after the Gentlemen, from Michigan back out of deal. I was curious as to why he did. The dealership said there as a electrical issue. I wasn’t aware of this website, so I wrote a post land cruisers site on FB, asking how to run the vin and get records. Lucky a man posted this link.
