@nvrfollow is the entire cabinet (i.e. not drawers) made from 18mm? I appreciate you sharing. You did an incredible job. Good luck on future production.

Hi, good question and thank you! The floor and the middle upright drawer divider (shown below) of the carcass are both 18mm. All other parts in the carcass are 12mm. It was important to make the floor 18mm for crash safety reasons.

I still love these, I need to make a decision.

We are testing patterns to increase grip/sliding resistance in the cargo area. What do you all think of topo lines? Are they played out or timeless...

I made this particular pattern by exporting elevation data from a local area. Shown here in MDF, final cut would be from all black material.

The topo lines look great. Very cool that they are from a local map.

I'd be into something like a geometric honeycomb pattern if I was in the market.

Been waiting for this thread to show signs of life. How close are you to taking orders?

I've wanted to use "Seadek" type material on my drawers. The stuff they use on boats and resembles wood by texture. More grippy and soft... less durable though.

Hey thanks for asking. We are just finishing up the new drawer badges now for the official launch. We can take orders for Mud members anytime.

We can do that, I’ll try that out thank you for the input and idea

Thanks for the input. This would make a great sacrificial top if it were bonded to something thin and rigid. Totally doable

I think the Topo lines look great. I suppose that's still a good look for now... timeless? Not sure. I think this is one of the cleanest looking drawer systems available and I'm glad I checked back on this thread.

I was wondering a couple of things about your drawers:

How quiet are they? My LC is becoming my daily driver in a couple of months and I'm tired of the squeaks and rattles of my current drawer system.

What are the dimensions of the cargo area? I currently have a 100ah battery setup to run a big fridge and if I could save a few bucks by not purchasing a PLB40 that might be the way I go.

Have you thought about a sleeper system? A 60/40 would be really slick.

Do you have updated pricing? Or a website for ordering?

Hey thanks for the kind words. Given your questions it is clear you seek many of the some criteria this drawer system was designed around. You seek a quiet, robust and modular drawer system that is as good every day as it is on the trail.

Noise: A rattle free system was one of the top design metrics. Being made of wood the system naturally dampens vibrations. They do not use traditional ball bearing drawer slides. And finally extensive use of magnets on removable panels insures no vibration and no noise.

I am glad you brought up batteries. I need to go back and edit, but I do not recommend the PLB 40 for permanent installs. What model battery are you currently using? There is quite a bit of space under the wing and enough space in the forward fridge hatch for a 200 - 300 ah battery for those running a drawer fridge.

I definitely will do some sort of full length and 60/40 ratio system. Glad to see there is interest there!

As far as deployable sleeping platforms go we and others have had good luck just using the 2nd row seats without issue. The height of the carcass top matches the folded 2nd row. We do have a detachable bridge that fills the 4” gap and still allows space for mounting electronics on the forward face of the carcass.

How many of you want a deployable sleep platform?

We are almost ready to launch our website. Just need to finish milling our new badges/logo for the drawer system. I will make you or any other Mud member a drawer system in the meantime.

I have 2 Wieze 100ah batteries but I'll only plan on using 1 for this setup. About 6.75" x 13" x 8.5". I think that I'd prefer to have the battery setup permanent and the fridge/drawer interchangeable.

I might hold off for a month or 2 for ordering just as I don't need it right now and we're getting our house ready to sell, but you can count me in. My mind is made up.

I'll have more time to fiddle fart around with my truck once we get this house fixed up and sold.

Thanks for the reply.

These look amazing. I really like the integrated fridge. I plan to camp in my vehicle and the extra platform space vs. a fridge mounted on top is key. I am interested in placing an order in the amber edge grain. I’m also good with the DIY version. I sent you a DM. Please respond back with pricing/details.

Thank you for all the messages and interest! I've responded to all private messages.

I'm really liking this overall design. Are there any issues with the drawers fully extending? Secondly, how could a sleep platform be integrated into it? I really liked the Overland bound setup. I currently own the ADGU system but it keeps getting loose and I'd like something that fits a bit tighter. I feel like there is lots of wasted space.

^^Thanks for the great questions!

Drawer Extension:
No issues with full extension using solid-state slides. There's passive auto-braking when drawers extend past their center of gravity - they tip forward and contact the carcass top. Just needs a bit more force to pull through to the back compartment. A spring latch in back prevents them from sliding out completely.

Sleep Platform: Drawer deck height matches folded second-row seats with a 3" gap (needed for seat recline). I offer an optional flip-up section to bridge the gap, though some just fill it with gear or use a thin mattress to span it and it is no factor.

Did you ever see the Overland Bound design? The sleep platform was completely removable. They CNC'd a special bracket that locked the drawer system to the sleep platform. I sort of like that idea. Do you have a website or order form? With it being completely wood, what are the chances of the screws coming loose? I like my ADGU system but would love more of a "custom" feel to it.

Yes, I've seen the Overland Bound build - absolutely next-level metal/wood integration! That removable sleep platform concept with the CNC bracket system is brilliant. We could definitely incorporate something similar, like a pull-out table that doubles as a sleep platform extension. I'd be willing to build this for you as a prototype to explore that custom approach you're looking for.

Regarding durability, we haven't had any issues with screws coming loose or pulling out. The carcass design is rigid enough to prevent the vibration-induced hole wallowing or fatigue stress that causes most fastener failures in overlanding applications. The only potential issue would be over-driving screws during assembly, but that's easily remedied by stepping up from #8 to #9 wood screws if needed.

We don't have a formal website yet, but I'm happy to discuss custom builds with anyone interested. Feel free to reach out directly if you'd like to explore options for your specific setup.
