Glad this is coming to a happy ending.

Would you go through Mag Engines again? They seem to have a decent 1KZ selection, but just don’t know much about them.

I flipped through the service manual on swapping injectors and it seems straight forward. Anything funky or lessons learned? Did you have to bleed injector lines?

Yes Mag was great. They didn't have extra return line crush washers in their catalog, so I contacted them and asked. They were happy to source the washers for a very reasonable price, add them to their eBay store, and ship them with the injectors. Everything arrived quickly and thus far has been great.

Injector swap was straight forward, just be meticulously clean. After the old injectors were out, I duct taped a smaller hose to the shop vac and used that smaller vacuum hose and a small bit of paper towel held with hemostats to clean the injector holes, threads, and sealing surfaces in the head. No bleeding was needed, just cranked a bit longer than usual.

When installing and removing, make sure you get your socket on the nozzle holder itself(green highlight), not on the upper half of the injector(red highlight).

Can't stress cleanliness enough. I left the protective covers on until the last moment, blew off the injector pipe connections on both pipe and injector before connecting them. New fuel filter is a good idea.

Thanks for the info. I suspect I'll have an order into them before too long.

More driving today, EGT is back down where it should be. Cruise EGT went from ~650F before this whole mess, up to ~850F with new head and mismatched Temu injectors, to now back down to ~650F with OEM injectors.

Note that I'm only measuring cyl #4 EGT, obviously cylinders were not doing even work. No clue what the other three cylinders were doing, but confident they're fairly even now.

Can't get over how much better it runs with the new injectors. So much smoother, easy power, EGTs so much lower. Having to back off the throttle before on hills to now easily climbing the same hills at part throttle and 950EGT.

Not trying to be a dill pickle about that shop, but they truly did screw me over and I'd hate for others to have that experience too. At what point is it fair to name them?
