Sorry to revive an old thread, but my car is showing the same issues since I bought it a couple of months back. Im getting 100-105 on the coolant gauge I added, reading from the top rad hose. Mainly runs this hot on the motorway. I've just assumed my gauge is reading high as the stock one doesn't move at all, but maybe it's actually a problem?

Did you ever diagnose the issue with yours? Just before I start spending money getting my injectors serviced etc :P
Already done new ally rad, 10 blade fan etc.
Thanks!

A decent system will easily handle heat generated on hill climbs, and/or logging through mud and snow. One key is to keep your revs up by downshifting hereby allowing the fan, and water pump to do thier jobs.
Do not lug your engine.
Now by having a pressurized cooling system with the added benefit of glycol coolant your system can easily withstand 105C and more!
Do the math: Pressure, coolant and boiling point vs water. Find your happy number.
Oh, And yes once you crest a hill you will spike, your system has been absorbing heat, normally I let it ride....
