Hi folks!

I'm about to change all the exhaust in my HZJ70 LC, due to a very weird exhaust position (the tubes under the truck) that don't allow me to mount side rails.

The question here is, what diameter tubing do you recomend?

Thanx

Guille

Does yours cross from right to left behind the t/case?
Im using 2 1/2 inch.

Yes, it crosses. The problem is before the crossing, as it goes to the left of the chassis, blocking access from outside to anchor the side bars.

Im planning to change the whole way it goes under, to allow me more space.

2 solutions:
first:
when you make the sliders "bracket" the exhaust with flat steel and mount the tubes to that.
second:
run the exhaust straight down and across infront of the tranny support cross member... we have been doing this one a few trucks and it works like a charm even off road...

You can also run the new exhaust on the inside of the frame rail and then up and across behind the transfer case.

Cheers,

Michael
