It's BSPT. I just bought an OEM plug:

PLUG (FOR WATER OUTLET)

90341-16094

Drill and tap to suit whatever temp sensor you're using.

I was originally hoping to use the VDO M16x1.5 temp sender with an aftermarket gauge. I took the elbow to a knowledgeable fitting store and the M16 threads did not feel fully engaged (loose). Also, the plug needs to be an exact length. Hence why I ordered the OEM plug referenced above and will drill and tap. Pretty sure M16 will be fine using a quality pipe dope

Where abouts are you located? Have you contemplated just getting some aluminium welded onto the pipe then drilled and tapped? If you were in Melbourne/Australia I would do it for you, but you should be able to find someone locally to do it for a few bucks...

Thanks for the offer! I’m in the Philippines. I’ve ordered an M16x1.5 to 1/8 NPT adapter, hopefully it works. If not then I will probably get the plug and drill and tap that like SHRED mentioned.

From what I read over there the temp sensor in the single port outlet in this pic is for the aircon, the one below oil filter for the glow system and the one behind the dipstick is for the temp gauge. So there may still be another use for the dual port outlet??

My JDM 1991 HDJ81 does not have the aircon sensor. I will be adding the single port outlet #16304-17020, to be used for a digital temp gauge.

I have a question. can i just use the 2 sensor on the right and plug my two cables to? I have a 1HZ water outlet in spare with the temp sensor hole but it doesnt have the coolant hose underneath like the 1HDT. and the 1HDT didnt come with the coolant sensor hole/thread.
